does anyone else remember the methods of getting unsigned discs to run in ps2 before mod chips were released?
after seeing this on team wab's website it may be possible:
11-07-2005 : Umd presence switch.
Some Games need ANY umd in the drive to run.
Perhaps you do not want use your umd and leave it in the box. ;)
Just open the umd drive, and press the umd presence switch with your finger, or better find a way to leave it pressed ( tape, matchbox, etc...)
now compare with the switch behind the cover of the drive in ps2:
(cannot find picture)
would it be possible to:
1) do not load any cheats
2) go to start game
3) when it says open and take out disc, press the little switch when you take the disc out
4) have someway to boot a menu like file assistant and be able to execute you're homebrew?
I believe it may be a lot less secure if you boot from AR MAX psp than booting from sony's OS. What do you think? I may get AR MAX soon and test this odd theory. :shifty:
