Okay, I'm really getting tired of all the downgrade discussions. I want to try a different topic.
I realize how hard it may be to hack a PSP 2.0 in general, but I want someone to try this. I want someone to try to make a homebrew converter that will convert any homebrew eboot file to work with 2.0 PSP's.
Actually, I was thinking someone could try making the homebrew version changer that would let you convert homebrew games eboot file to make it work with Any PSP firmware. Meaning, any PSP's with firmwares 1.0, 1.5, 1.5+, or 2.0. That way, you only have one converter to work with, and many choices/options to how you want to run the homebrew game on any existing PSP formware version. :)
By using this converter, it wouldn't hurt the general homebrew game itself, it would only rewrite/convert the neccessary values to make the homebrew games eboot file run on any PSP firmware.
You can still run/view the homebrew games on PSP menu screen. It just will not go passed the PSP logo, because you'll always get the 'error, game can not be loaded' screen.
The idea with this, the converter will allow homebrew games to pass that error screen somehow and still be able to run on new PSP firmwares. If however you use the converter to convert a Homebrew game that works for 1.5 firmware to 1.0 firmware, it will not run. Same idea if you convert a 1.5 to 2.0 and you run with a PSP with 1.5+ firmware, it won't run.
The only way the converter will work is if you convert the homebrew eboot file to your PSP's firmware version. After the correct conversion is done, it would allow you to play your homebrew games on the firmware specified on the converter.
The only downside to this is, I assume it would still require some hacking skills/codes to get the homebrew games to run on the PSP's current firmware.
