Hi all,
I am interested in patching together a little FIBS (First Internet Backgammon Server - fibs.com ) client w/ GUI for the PSP. For those not familiar FIBS is a backgammon server which use telnet protocol. Including gameplay, chatting and account management there are at most 100-150 commands that are sent from the client side to the FIBS server. ( for more info see fibs.com/CommandReference/index.html ) I am fairly computer literate if that means anything these days, but don't really have any experience coding (i've patched together a linux from scratch install, compiled source and dabbled in a little php). Before delving into C or Lua I wanted to find out if there were any developers out there who were interested in collaborating on the project. I don't know if it makes sense to use the source code for Peldet, released under the GPL, as a starting point. The source is available at localhost.geek.nz/telnet . However, according to danzel, Peldet's developer, "I wouldn't quite say peldet is the best resource, there is a known bug and it is using sce sockets instead of unix sockets." Anyhow before I ramble on for too long, send me a private message if you are interested and I will send you my email address. |
