I was messing around trying to load up a backed up copy of a GTA:LCS iso yesterday (like everyone else who bought it and wants to keep homebrew) and i couldnt figure why it didnt work, so i used vcdrom to explore the files in the iso
Firstly, i read that gta requires a video codec only found in 2.00, so what i thought i do is replace the files in the folders with some renamed video files from other games (i thought that way it would load it because it wouldnt be looking for a 2.00 file on the flash)
While searching through the iso folders i found a folder called "Prx2_0_0", now if this doesnt mean something than im a F'n idiot, cos this file isnt in any other one of my backup isos (like burnout, which i put custom music on) i just want people who havent to look this direction
and if looking in the files of a back up iso is illegal to discuss in this forum, i apoligize in advance to the mods :(
its not a codec issue, the reason the "LEGAL BACKED UP ISO" will not work on a 1.5 psp is because the Eboot.bin file itself is enocded with 2.0s decryption mechanism so it is only designed to run on a 2.0+. Expect a fix for it in about a weeks time or even a months time. peeps at maxconsole.net are trying to crack the damn thing.
hmmm...if frozen can access the files and find the .bin file that the 2.0 needs, I suppose he could modify the bin to accept the 1.5 codecs, and allow it to boot as well...good luck kid.
Are the EBOOTs specific to each game or is it just a default instruction to launch the game?
the prx are the modules
I believe the boot.bin may also contain an "mpeg player size check"(its a string in the boot.bin)
and its also encrypted,ya.
Best way would be to enable kernel mode on 2.0, if we can do that.
