Its possible to have an emulator of a nintendo ds on the psp?
doubt it, how are you going to use the touch screen..
Although, an intresting note is that the resolution of the psp screen is greater than the resolution of the two ds screens combined. I looked at their technical specs.

Buy a DS you cheap ass.
I mean, cmon... If you want to play the games then buy the hardware!
I can understand for legacy hardware but not for hardware that hasn't been out for long...
I think its entirely possible, but I dont think it should be done. I'm against emulation of current gen systems. That doesnt mean I dont think it can be done...

Hmmm....the GBA is still being sold, yet it's been emulated on the PSP.
Of course, the DS is a whole 'nother kettle of fish when it comes to emulation. I can see it being done the PC before anything else, even then it won't show up for quite a while.
My DS is mostly used for Advance Wars/Zelda/RPGs due to Sony's utter lack of a decent RPG. Soon to change with TOE coming out and BOF3 right behind it.

wouldnt that emu run like 3 fps?
Spoiler for a surprise:
I remember a long time ago, probably about 5 months ago there was news of one "in the works" on the site. I doubt it though.
Um...I would make that at least 20 fps and better over time, it's not even as powerful as the N64Originally Posted by gracz54

But still it would be pretty cool if you can buy the PSP and play DS roms on it (that is if someone made an emu) that are leaked over the net. Pretty much its 2 consoles in 1
this could be possible but the person would have to make something to go over the psp for touch that would more than likly tie into the usb cable for easyiest i think than it would probablly be played sideways and that would make controls hard and the psp is already like 17 systems in 1 if you look at how many emu's are capable of being on it but hey you never know i mean the gba is finly starting to show some improvement p.s. i should probably check myself but has updates updated thee dam gba emu list all they got is vba 0.4 not the 2 new ones

If you wanna play DS games, buy a freaking DS!
Nobody is going to develop a touch screen for the PSP.
Nobody is going to develop a NDS commercial rom emulator for PSP.
I think its highly possible. But will almost certainly not happen. At least not for a good few years.
There would be no need for a touch screen to be developed, you can use the analog nub for that (to a certain extent anyway).
I would say that if you wanna play DS games then buy one. Or better still get someone else to buy one for you seeing as its coming up to christmas.
It can be done, but I havent seen an Emulator that has ran a commercial rom on it yet. I think it would be cool if they made a DS Emu for PSP, although it cant run Commercial roms, the DS has some very intresting homebrew. O and for the Touch screen, you can use the Anolog stick, and for the screen of the DS on the PSP, just split the PSP screen into 2 sections Bottom screen and Top screen.
the touchscreen control could be the analog stick and the dpad the dpad.
While feasible it's not acceptable. The games I play require quick responses, there is no way this can be achieved with analog stick & Co.Originally Posted by beastt
I think the analog would be good enough for a touch screen. Having the screen with the left as the main and the right as the "touch" with probably a mouse-type icon so that you know where you're going. I think it's certainly possible but it'd be best to just wait for an NDS emu for the comp to be perfected first.
Why do you need a DS emulator on PSP? To get the roms from DS to PSP first you would have to rip them using your DS and then transfer them to your PSP. Unless you are a pirate, why on earth would you not just use your DS?
Maybe you just would like to carry your PSP around instead of both your PSP and Nintendo DS.Originally Posted by Alosis
As for the Touch Screen Idea it's perfectly possible... For example you had a touch screen which plugged into the USB port on top of the PSP and flip a small touch screen surface on top of your screen. Then you would make it so that the touch screen wrote a small file on to your Memory stick which contains X Location, Y Location, and sensitivity. Then you made a app which would read that file and output a moving cursor. Perfectly possible.... Now the question is... is anyone willing to do it... More than likely not :Argh:Nobody is going to develop a touch screen for the PSP.

Yes a DS emulator is posible on the PSP. I actualy am very intersted in the idea but at the current time there is no strong DS emulator avalible. So its out of the question for the near future.
Down the line when a good emulator has been writen and optimised, then yes I think we will see a port made for the psp. I mean really alot of the DS games don't use the touch screen very well and for some you could get away with using the analog like a mouse button and configure a button to represent pressing down on the touch screen. This would easly solve to let some games like say Advance wars DS work.
From what I have read so far, seems like some people like to pirate hmmmmmmm, The current DS Emus run hombrew well enough for them to work on the acuall DS. I have a DS and why would I carry both DS and PSP around, I dont think I want to carry 450$ worth of electronics around. I really want a DS Emu for its homebrew, for example 'DSLinux'. And something that poped into my mind was to call it 'PDSP-PlayStation Dual Screen Portable'
Get a GBA emu to run at normal speed first.
First of all I don't see NDS emu on the PSP for a long time. Theres a better chance of playing n64 games before NDS.
Second just buy the NDS. They sell it on ebay for $100
If you really want an NDS emu, just buy the Istation v43.
I heard in around three months, there will be an NDS emu.
ds has great games. and I am sure everyone wants a piece of castlevania who is into that and can't play it. It sucks. But the ds pretty much has to get nailed on the PC enviroment way before it goes portable.
