Those are pointless and they are not firmware 3.00
    a) Easy to trick your PSP to think it is 3.00
    b) Easy to make a eboot fle named PSP UPdate version 3.0
    c) Folders..that proves nothing :O

Although the first screenshot of the new icons are for PS3 connectivity last I checked...

This is not a rubish source from PSP 3D, it's the Admin. He knows a senior employee of Sony.

Well, this is the only image that I could find of the PS3 - PSP firmware that was announced earlier.

See...it shows the video icon selected, and so does PSP3d...now why would that be? Oh right..it's because PSP3d photoshoped it and did not know what the other icons looked like :O

I think this is just another way to promote PSP3d...pssh...
If it was real, we would know...but why would they recieve it (even if they supposedly know someone from sony...)

    EDITG:

    Clearer picture:

yea this seems real i just don't understand the BS (Digital satellite broadcasting) and CS (Digital wired broadcasting) what could they be used for...

FrozenIpaq: I have to disagree with you on this one i don't see how they could have photoshop something from that angle to another angle... I also can't see how they would have such a crisp looking image if they did manage to pull of what you are saying the only thing i could think of is that they have a PSX and ripped the XMB Icons off it :icon_wink

Look at the new picture I posted on my last post

The icon window width (the square) is thicker than what is pictured in PSP3d's Firmware... If they wish to claim they have leaked pictures, then why do they not show us other pictures that can actually be worth something..

also, in the first group of images, take a look at the number 2 in the top right in the second image, then compare it to the number 2 in the image before it.
now i'm not sure, but they look like different 2's (different fonts) to me.
which would suggest someone edited it, stuck it on psp, went into the photo menu and took a picture with it on photo menu full screen.

    edit:
just noticed there are wavy lines in the third pick, and non in picutre 1 and 2...

Well, as many of us have seen in the PSP Scene, you can't declare something legit if it has contradicting evidence. We can't prove this real, but we can prove them "fakish", the icons are different than from the magazine (which is much more reliable) and the only thing that proves this is real is that the "admin" said they are... Until more evidence comes out, I am assuming these are fake because there is nothing that is convincing me that it is real. These are the worst pictures to go off of, and as you know, I always say something is fake until provided enough evidence to prove otherwise

Ok Frozen you didn't provide enough Concret evidence to prove that this was indeed False... I provide to you concret evidence which prove that this is false... This is from Picture 1 and Picture 3:

If you look the fonts are different why? because they switched back to the 1.5/2.0 XMB to show off the 3.00 Update.

I already knew that, as stated by a user above us as well :P I already have photoshop opened with it and have seen the comparison as well. I'm just saying: It is false and I've been watching some Yamakasi videos instead of wasting my time on something I know is false :P

I have attached my comparison (enlarged) of all 3 "2"s

Also, check out the two pictures I have provided (The magazine one and the PSP3d one), the Music and Photo icon have been missidentified? PSP3d shows the Music icon, not the Photo icon which it should

Also, in the 3.00 update, it shows WAVEY LINES IN THE BACKGROUND, that is existant in 1.5 only!

    Ah, see..more evidence for you!

There, that is my collected evidence to prove this is fake

Those icon's look like they are ripped from the PSX console dashboard. (Not PS1, PSX is that media console sony released)

I want to add in one more little piece of evidence...

Notice how the game icon is not silver like the other icons ;) This proves what i said about them getting lazy and just returning to the original XMB to show off the Fake 3.00 Update. :icon_wink

OK, you have proven an interesting point FrozenIpaq.

Allow me to repost what I posted on mine own site:

"Listen guys, whether or not you believe it, I could honestly not care. I believe it. Some people say the font is different? What's your point? I don't have any Photoshop skills more than branding images with the site's name. I will contact my source and see what's up with that, but I have built a trust in him, as I met him during CES of 2005, and we have been in contact for a long time.

He has a personal website which I host for him, not really popular or anything, but I guess I will release the domain to the public:

Once again, don't go on flaming me about conspiracy theories, I just post what I find to be interesting, and this is interesting."

Done. We are all tired of BS in the homebrew scene, and I am just as tired of conspiracy theories. Let me get ahold of him and see what he says.

    Well, this thing with numbers...
Its existence it's not necessary a proof for this pictures to be real. Maybe a smart man made them and he just wanted to make sure people will believe these photos adding a little detail.

I know this isn't your fault. The fault lies in the source, as has all the other PSP stories that have proven false. I realize now after reading your site that this was provided from someone else (not yourself), which I hold nothing against your site. PSPU has been the target of false articles (Biros) and we believed them until it was proven fasle.

I jumped the gun I guess :O I didn't see how it was from an outside source and assumed you were the one with the pictures/firmware. Sorry, I apologize for any comment I made against PSP3d

Ichigo: Yeah, we already knew it was 1.5 in the update folder because it had the wavey lines (but that could be a feature of 3.0, who knows :O ). But that proves it was a 1.5, but that proves nothing :P Yes, it is a 1.5, yes that is an update named 3.0, yes the user could be updating his PSP from 1.5 to 3.0, but who in the rigth mind would do that ;)

Well, we have all had our shares of these fakes and I had my share of excitement :P

    Thanks for understanding FrozenIpaq.

The fact of the matter was that he was originally going to post it on his own site to get some publicity going, but then he got worried about Sony firing him, so he handed over the pictures to me.

The only reason why I did not believe it is a fake is because I personally know this guy, have gone to lunch with him in Vegas, talk to him, and he's just not someone I've met online.

Whether or not he was trying to have some fun with us and PSed a picture, I do not know. But I know he has no PS skills, being as his site looks like utter crap.

I asked him for a copy of the update EBOOT before. He said he could not hand it over for two reasons: Sony is being extra strict with internal copies of builds of the firmwares. Each copy distributed to the staff is personalized, and is assigned to a specific MAC address, and as well, has the staff member's name embedded inside the code of the EBOOT, so that in case it were to be leaked, the leaker could be immediately found, and pressed charges against.

Which brings me to another point. He did inform me when he gave me these pictures that it is a 'build' of the firmware, and that there are many, many builds, made daily. This leads me to believe that there could be probable glitches, and the font differences might actually be there to signify the difference between a release and a build, but this is all speculation.

This leads me to believe that there could be probable glitches, and the font differences might actually be there to signify the difference between a release and a build, but this is all speculation.
I could tell you that Windows has builds made daily, but that is just by looking at the build number and when the build was compiled ;) If you could ask for pictures of the Updateing process :icon_wink

As stated in the magazine that released the PSP Firmware scans, Sony is focusing on the PS3 and not the PSP as much recently. I would not expect any major firmware updates until the release of the PS3
Do you know who I am?
