OK, for anyone with Windows XP, you guys should know that the PSP's hardware is recognized as type A. Well, some games these days have connectivity with a PS2 version. I hooked it up to the PC, and found that it is recognized as PSP Type D when it is in that mode. Unfortunately, it cant find a driver. If we find a driver, maybe we will have more access than standard USB mode, or be able to do some stuff that could run in the game with more access. Ill look around some more and see what I find, but post your thoughts

best move I think to get flash would be through the PC, by some port that is or Mod chip like

MGA hooks to a PS2? I didnt kno that....i dont think the US version does anyways.

Im not sure...it might using one of the methods, but by default it requires 2.60

yes i noticed this ages ago psp type D but couldnt find anything on this psp type D.
also there are a few games out there that have this metal gear3,wwe SvR and a few others to name but as far as im aware it only accesses savedata on psp.
maybe some homebrew for ps2 may open doors for the psp????

Not sure, i would have to find an ISO of one of the ps2 games, or even a firmware dump to see if i could get a driver for psp type d, to see what exactly it can access. However, if you can feed the savedata code, before it saves and re-encrypts it then you may be able to bypass filters

I checked the US version of MGS3. Unfortunately, the USB functionality does not exist in this version.

the metal gear acid to metal gear solid 3 gives u extra cards on metal gear acid.....
it unlocks something om mgs3. thats the european versions tho.

I've gotta say, though, that more than likely this is nothing more than normal USB, or directed at only the save folder. I don't see why they'd make it anything more potent.

agree but looking through a irx file i came across this

usbpspcm : maybe PSP version is 0.8.0, so skip version check

ok first, is it looking through flash for index file for fw version or is their another way of finding system version?
or is it looking for usb driver version?
maybe someone with more knowledge can shed some light

its a helluva lot more potent than the "EDIT 1.50 EBOOT WITH VERSION 9.99 AND DOWNGRAGE" theories...
it communicates using a different usb mode than the regular one with pcs...it might be running a few more modules during the pairing...

if you want to discourage speculation, start with the stupid ones first.
