1.51 is blacklisted too, they all should be up to 2.01 IPL (inclueded)
So - is there anyone with 2.60 brave enough to test 2.60 -> 2.50? To prove that it is IPL that is blacklisted, not something else?Zitat:

There is no need to, some TA-082 are 2.50 psps....Zitat:

Misunderstanding here ... I know that there are 2.50/TA-082 (I have one too) ... my point is - there are different parts in FLASH ... IPL, Flash0, Flash1, id_storage (?) and maybe other ... imagine that 2.50 and later updates write somewhere into FLASH their version. And bootstrap code loads this info even before loading IPL (which is located at physical address afaik). This way bootstrap code could 'blacklist' any lower IPL that was already flashed. No need for hard-coding IPL checksums or whatever ... got my point?Zitat:

o0km tried to flash a 2.50 nand into a TA-082 and succeeded while nands from lower firmware revisions failed, it speaks by itself.
About the updaters up to 2.60 they don't write anything else than the IPL and flash0, however it seems that the 2.60 scechkuppkg module adds some new keys to the idstorage area.
The IPLs md5 are mostlileky blacklisted so that if the IPL md5 matches the on in the list it will be prevented to run.
That is something that I would like to get confirmed - if this added information (does not mean that these are keys automatically) is there to prevent any further downgrade attempts. Obviously on old HW this won't help, since old bootstrap just does not care about these ... but on new HW maybe this prevents 2.50->2.60->2.50 - unless you overwrite whole NAND (as oOkm)Zitat:

Do you know (and/or can you point me to the source) where is this information (MD5 or any other checksum) stored?Zitat:

Is it proved that PSP have ROM-based bootstrap code?
How else do you think that it would load the IPL otherwise ?Zitat:
Zitat von _00_
Let's take phones as example ... there are various parts of flash - 'bootstrap' (usually) at the beginning and actual 'firmware' ... when you are re-flashing phone - you have access to 'firmware' part only. If you want to re-flash 'bootstrap' you need to have special HW. (and on newer phones even correct keys to be able to flash).Zitat:

Unfortunately Allergex is undocumented so we don't know what everything is on-die ... but my Q was: is bootstrap on PSP ROM-based or is it flash-based? or probably PROM?
LATER: Nevermind - found documentation ... http://hitmen.c02.at/files/yapspd/ps...p28.html#sec28 tells that bootstrap = IPL actually ... what would be interesting though - at which stage TA-082 freeze when 'blacklisted' IPL is flashed into NAND? Does oOkm know?
Do you guys think the 1.00 IPL is blocked on TA-082? I doubt it.
Same thing i was thinking...just have v2.50 or v2.60 go straight to v1.00...then its all good !Zitat:

Yeah, perhaps 0okm should try it. He has his firmware module for backup if it bricks.Zitat:

y not use fw 1.00? =D
and yes 1.51 can do exactly the same thing as 1.50 just u have to edit the file.
thats wat the 1.52 patch did, it patched the exploit
and u cant just downgrade to 2.00 then to 1.50 wf mph, cause u still use the ipl regardless.
any form of downgrading to 1.50 needs the ipl. so yer.
and ummm i'm pretty sure sony isnt that stupid. they should have made it that TA-082 cant downgrade at all. like all past ipls should be blocked.
have a ta-082? just wait for the kernal access in 2.5/6 to be made.
I think our best bet to downgrade a TA-082 is to wait for a modchip. The makers of Udiluted Platinum said they are working on one.
this kinda sucks. If a 2.6 to 2.0 downgrader for TA 82 PSP's COULD be made, I think they should try making it. We'd need to have a lot of warnings for people that don't read though. People would probably try downgrading from 2.0 then and fail to realize that that would still brick their PSP. -_-
i personally just want to upgrade to a custom firmware, and not risk bricking my psp. but if someone with that recovery module would test a downgrader, that'd be cool too.
i'm not about to have a 4th brick!
Wait, I was told that TA-082 blacklisted everything below 2.5.
I've made a thread that should clear a few things up.
Thread here
Thanks, its a really nice thread. But does that also mean that v1.00 won't run on the newer chip? It would be worth a try!!Zitat:

First of all, Thanks! :Punk:Zitat:

Second of all, I don't think it would. If the second explaniation is true then we would have to add the NAND chip drivers to the 1.00 firmware and since we can't do that yet it seems impossible.
Why wouldn't they block 1.00? It's easy to write
TA-082s have to wait till someone releases a kernel loader. :Argh:Code:If Firmware<2.50 Then
Don't Boot
End
Ok then, so I was right. Glad to see some backup.Zitat:
