It crashes because it is looking for the data file which isn't there. That's it. Anyways, I will be on quite a bit for the next few hours, so lets get the exploit hunting started up again.

im up all night so wont mind taking a look again :p
also TO you know anything about utility.prx?
Yeah, what does utility.prx do?Zitat:
Zitat von sneeky
What ever happened to that gamesave guy?
Hmm, what are you talking about?Zitat:
I am not sure exactly what utility.prx does, I will have to take a look again later. I have something I want to try first.
ok cool found some info on utility.prx functions quite a few different
functions so take a look if you want

Nice info there. Savedata is mentioned so is GameSharing net and more. Unfortunately the games are blacklisted meaning whatever is wrong is likely fixed.
So that leaves mscmhc0: __SCE _ EBOOT.PBP _TEMP.PBP /_TEMP.PBP / so far.
What file is that from?
SarahBaby3325 didn't say.Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
well it might be in other files but i know its in psheet.prx
speaking of which has something along the lines of :
recursive_mkdir PGD
package for psp development tool
encrypt wrapper.c
decrypt wrapper.c
also found open mac and check
check it out also this prx is not in any other firmwares well maybe 2.70
Well hopefully she replies, because it doesn't do me a lot of good to not know.
I was looking thru a few of the PRX files in the 2.71 dump and haven't found anything too interesting yet. I'm gonna look at it again tommorow. I'm going to sleep now, too fricken jetlagged from italy

There ya go TOZitat:

Thanks a lot. I am back to believing that must be for demos since it isnt in 2.6 even though it doesnt mention the xpd file.
But the __SCE__ part hides corrupted folders?Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
Yes __SCE_ will hide things. I dont know why and it makes me wonder what other tags exist. I know _DEL_ is if a file gets corrupted. I tested it :p
You could try SONY or somethng in that area.
I tried a stupid Loco Roco trick.
I just had a crazy thought, you know how you can ADD a data.psp file to an EBOOT without it corrupting? What if you added the DATA.psp file of a homebrew or something. But instead of it being name "DATA" you name it _TEMP.PSP, __SCE_DATA.PSP. Or maybe you changed the original DATA file to one of those? or any combination thereof.
I think that the __SCE_, _DEL_, and _TEMP are the only tags since those are the only ones ever referenced in the firmware.
hey, TO, do you think my idea hasa chance at all?
I did some messing around with that but no luck. It still needs to be signed.
I dont get the auto shutoff piece of crap, why does it run it when the eboot is incomplete? if there is no data.psp can't we just add our own?
hiya guys am back again had any news?
If we add our own, it won't run; it's not signed.Zitat:
Zitat von JaSo PsP
The auto shut off thing works only because there is no data.psp, and the PSP just crashes, and shuts off.
Good morning everyone. Time for another day of working on this.
Morning.. any news? dont wanna go to 46 pages
Nope still nothing major. Its just been a lot of experimenting and speculation.
Ok thnx =)
So what is being checked out and what looks remotely promising?
I've read about a few terms like _SCE_ and _DEL_ and something else in the filenames. What exactly do these do, and are they at all useful?
all we found out was that __SCE_ and a few varients i tried will hide icons.
So it basically the same as renaming a homebrew file to have x amount of characters so that it's not displayed at all (instead of a gap like that other program does)? Are these things incorporated in the lower firmwares as well, or are they new to to 2.7X? Also, what are the differences between the varients? Any special functions found for them?
Sorry for all the questions, I just like to keep up-to-date on things and know how future exploits MAY work (yes, big may, lol)(am not a developer in anyway. Just a curious person)
I'm not too sure actually. I am also curious as to what other tags may exist. The tags mentioned are in lower firmwares as well.
So if I had __SCE_ at the beginning (or end is it?) of the % folder on a 1.50, the icon should theoretically disappear?
EDIT: Also, what about adding that extention to a FILE name like a .prx file. Would that make it bypass a file that could still be run (customised mind you), or would it just make the PSP crash? Actually, hang on, Flash0, stupid mod, brick?
Well I put the code at the beginning. You could try the end and see what happens.Zitat:
Zitat von marv101
As for prx files, I think thse are firmware files only so they won't be able to be use that SCE ending. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Yeah, I remembered half way through my post, but thought I'd carry on in case it sparked something that could lead to something else.Zitat:
Zitat von X omega v5
But if the __SCE_ worked for files as well, I was wondering whether it could be for custom firmware, but I don't know what checks the firmware makes, or whether a program could be used to rename a .prx with that extension on-the-fly to enable something to be run or what. I'm not a developer. I'm just trying to throw ideas about in the hope that it might spark of someone to look at something a little bit deeper into, or go off on a tangent based on that idea, etcetera.
If you put the __SCE__ (NOTE: there are TWO __ at the end) and %__SCE__ on the other folder (the split eboot) then the corrupted data will disappear, but the one with __SCE__ wont.Zitat:

Also, i noticed that pJ14 has Midnight club, and thats one of the blacklisted games. We should try that game TO
To plead ignorance, what is a blacklisted game?Zitat:
Zitat von CoBrA2168
Well we found a list of games in v2.71 that included GTA in it. We think that those games were the games that possibly were fixed/left alone with the new update. So we might be able to get it to run eloader or something!Zitat:
