It should not be posted, no.
That's only a splice. Surely it's allowed? It's not as if I posted the whole PRX.
Anyways, I'll carry on. I'll see what I can find what prx uses flash0
EDIT: Ok, I'll take it down, I wasn't sure.
TO how is it going on with that cable your trying to make?
Im not going to make the cable. I suck with hardware, so I am not going to risk making a bad cable which can fry my psp.
Which I tried to tell them in the other thread, but obviously no one listens to me *rolls eyes* lol
Oh srry missed that part, but what about that debug software??
Debug software? Do you mean the serial logger? If so I have the source of that, and have it setup, so now I just need the cable.
Yea i thought it was somekind of debug software, but is there anybody who can make such a cable? with the right voltages
That's what we're trying to find. But nobody seems to want to make TO one
Yeah I know. Well if no one wants to help, then I wont even look into this.
Give me instructions and I might make the cable.
Well I'd love to help, except 1. I think you live on the other side of the planet to me, and 2. I wouldn't have a clue :P
Yeah vb_master wich country do you life?
USA, I'll gather parts tommorow, if I have enough money :/ .Zitat:

And what are you guys planning doing with that? :D:D
Is this the way to find a flaw in the psp and get homebrew? if so, i'm gonna be really happy. It will be even better if there would be a downgrader before 22nd of july!! :D:D i'm going on vacation on the 22nd

July 22nd would be nice, considering it's my birthday and my PSP day.
So, Xay J, witch cable is it you have made?

I'm working on the Serial cable, the problem is the MAX3232CPE chip, I can't find it anywhere in the USA. I'll just sample it from Maxim.
its liVe...i dont usually correct grammer but that was in dire need of some correction...Zitat:
Zitat von vb_master
That would be a spelling correction. Grammar is sentence structure. Normally I don't bother correcting people either, but it's entertaining to see someone correct another's spelling and make their own mistake.Zitat:

I'll keep my tips on punctuation and capitalization to myself for the time being.
Wheres the guide to the serial cable that TO is looking for? If someone can post it up or PM it to me so I can take a look.
I posted the link on the last page.
I noticed you live in CT. Does that mean you can build and send me a cable since I live in ct as well?
Lets see. Because I can do wiring and such, but I suck horribly in soldering. And I do have some extra PSP headphone remotes that I can work with. But lemme take a look at the guide before I can say I can do it.Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
Yeah thats fine. If you cant, dont worry about it.
Hmmm.... This seems pretty easy to do. Not so much soldering to do. If anything, I have a friend whos an expert in this. I talk to him and get back to you. :)
Alright, thanks.
I don't mean to be funny, but do you actually know what you're going to do with a PSP serial cable?
There's nothing solid to go on, unless you have a plan of attack then owning a cable is going to be useless to you.
TO, I've started work on the serial cable, so far this is all I've got done.

I'll sample the MAX3232CPE (hopefully) today.
First I am going to just try out psp remote on linux. Then, I am going to get logs of serial activity. After that, it really does come down to what else needs to be done and tested. We are discussing it over at TeamQJ.
Edit: Nice start vb.

I think they're trying to flash firmware onto a bricked PSP through the serial port. Thats what I remember from the thread that got locked a while ago.
i thought they were logging stuff.. i'm confused :\
TeamOverload will log the communications with the serial cable.Zitat:
Zitat von Ortixx
Oh, and by the way, I put in the order for the MAX3232CPE. Should be here soon.
TeamOverlord, please PM me I need to see if you want me to send you the cable when I am done.
Isn't this the wrong thread to be talking about this in? Think it might be best to start a new one so more people get on board with it, and other people can pick up this 'project'
Not just bricked psps, any psp. Its the ultimate weapon against sony!!!Zitat:
Zitat von mrbagrat
TeamOverload I PM'd you back.
I pmed you back...again...
TO, have you made any progress with the decompiler?
No, its been a pain. I have been in contact with someone though, so we will see ;)
Hello everyone, first time Female poster here, so please take it easy on me.
I've been reading over the forums and have to say I'm very surprised to find you all working on a serial flasher for the PSP. The PSP mini-serial beside the headphone jack is only used for remote control facilities. There is no possible way to flash the PSP via this port. There are no paths inside the PSP to allow this and the paths from this go to the keypad paths. If it was this easy then the team at UP would have made a solution for this rather than having to solder over 20 wires all around the NANDS (I think this is what you call it?) board. Give up before we have alot of fried bricks. It was proven MadMatty wasn't for real so why take anything he said serious? If he did work for Sony then I know excatly what he worked for or still works at, and this is to get people to break their PSP's or to stop you finding an exploit which will actually work. Why not try the testpoints instead? Or I heard iball or freeplay (can't remember) saying there was others under the battery?
