if sony had decided to add something to flash they psp in the fw we would have found it all ready in the decrypted fw dumps but its a cool glitch
ACHOO!Zitat:

Oh, sorry, I'm alergic to bull.
Ahem...lfatfs.prx perhaps?
And the drama continues.. :p What evil plans will the Ex-Sony employee come up with next? Will he break into sony HQ and steal the 3.00 PSP? Maybe even a custom firmware or two? hell even the encyption keys will do!Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
Or will his friend catch him? and put him in the ex-sony employee prison. Who knows?
I dont believe it either. A mod should look up his IP and see if its even from near where Sony is.Zitat:

He said he lives in Scotland. Where I live :) I'll try and steal his "Custom" PSP for you all :pZitat:

Let's not be absurd.
This topic is THIS close to being closed, I bet. We need to focus on the flashing, and if we don't know what to do about flashing, just leave the thread.
Seriously- what we need to do is obtain a classically "bricked" PSP that has a corrupted flash. We need to hook it up to the serial port, run the logger, and boot it up. I feel that upon doing this, we will find what we need.
thats noting more than a kernel moduleZitat:

ask tmk for one. he has thousands of them. that or 0ookm, though he probably fixed all of his, him being god and everything.Zitat:

You know kernel, the thing that allows flash access?Zitat:

I tried the trick, and it didn't work for me. I used the same disc too.Zitat:

its works u got to press x and left <
hmm.. should work =S You exit the game and after pressing YES you were repeatly pressing X? dunno if it matters but i am on a 1.5 btw
I'm on 2.70, should I hold them or what?
It was probabl taken outta the 2.0 firmwares.
Guys. If you want to investigate the menu glitch, make a new thread for it. This is for the serial port flasher theory.
It's not a secret menu. It just loads the Settings menu into memory first, and interprets your X presses as an event for that menu.
Well at least we got it out of the way. But i can't help but wonder if there's other stuff like this in the PSP.
T.O., what open source software are you using for this? And why can't you distribute it?
I think someone said it was still in the beta stages.
I have posted it previously in this thread. Want me to upload it again?
Beta stages? It is an open source app he is using. We aren't talking about the flasher....we have no idea how to make that. I'm talking about the serial logger that he said he was working with.
EDIT: Ok, I thought you DIDN'T want to give it out. I was just asking why you wouldn't. :P Carry on.
OK I'm going to open things up a little in here, Sony have pissed me off so I'm going to piss them off.
The flash on the PSP does have an exploit. A php developer can create a flash file combined with PHP which can download the files required to exploit the PSP.
THIS MAY BE A WAY TO DOWNGRADE ON 2.7 and 2.71 FIRMWARES - Sony have not tested the expolit themself, so this is why I'm saying MAY!!!
1. Upload the 1.50 PRX files up on to a server, any server will do but it must run PHP. YOU WILL ALSO REQUIRE THE 1.50 DUMP FILES FROM A 1.50 USER. AS WITH THE 2.50/2.60 FIRMWARE!!!
2. Create a blank Flash File the Size of the PSP res 480 x 272.
3. In this Flash file add PHP information which requests that the PRX files are used from the file server such as www.yourdomain.com/psp/ then the file names. (THIS COULD BE AN EXTERNAL TEXT DOCUMENT THAT SIMPLY REQUIRES THE USER TO ENTER THE CORRECT URL).. remember to treat the server like the Memory Stick.
5. On doing so the flash player will overflow and cause the PSP to go in a flash mode as found in the 2.50/2.60 downgrader all you have to do is sit back and wait.
As I’ve said I’m not a programmer, but with the right FLASH & PHP coding your have your downgrader… Mind you it requires a WIFI connection to the internet to start the dump and throughout the dump; you will also need a host which will allow the files to be stored there.
The WIFI connection will remain active throughout the process so no worries there.
THIS IS VERY RISKY, AND YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK… I WON’T BE HELD RESPONSIBLE
The other thing is that because the Browser doesn’t sign anything it downloads you get passed all the issues, Remember a server is like a large MS…
It supports php? I guess that could work, but who knows. Freeplay, your take on it?Zitat:
Zitat von madmatty
Obviously you don't understand PHP. At all. PHP is a server-side scripting language. The server's PHP interpreter will NOT parse a flash file for PHP, let alone display the PHP within the flash file. And the PSP can't process PHP. Honestly, where do you come up with this?Zitat:
Zitat von madmatty
Sounds insane but I've seen crazier work around here
More like impossible. Flash only supports ActionScript anyways. And besides, even if a server could parse the flash file and output the correct html, it would be no different than for us to just go ahead and write ActionScript within the Flash. He has really talked out his ass this time.Zitat:
Zitat von X omega v5
oh yeah, forgot that. Havn't done php in a while.Zitat:
Zitat von cooldocy795
actually, I've seen flash do php, javascript, and other such stuff before. But what do I know, I hate flash, it's evil.Zitat:
Zitat von cooldocy795
I've got two books on it. I've been stidying up on PHP as my "next language".Zitat:
Zitat von Zettablade
PHP is a server-side language. That means that the PHP Interpreter on the server must parse the code and output the correct HTML (among other client-side languages). Link.Zitat:
Zitat von Zettablade
Like alwasy people not listen... PHP is processed by the server not the PSP. I know this.. Chirst always I must spell it out (I KEEP FORGETTING YOUR ALL 13 YEARS OLD).... FLASH & PHP WORK TOGETHER.... THE SERVER READS THE PHP CODE AND PROCESSES THE INFORMATION INTO THE FLASH FILE...Zitat:
Zitat von cooldocy795
THE FLASH FILE OVERFLOWS CREATING AN EXPLOIT GAP, BECAUSE THE SERVER IS STILL LOADING THE PHP, THE SERVER IS STILL PASSING THE INFORMATION INTO YOUR PSP... and so on.... chirst all mighty...
Has anybod taken into account that EEPROMs, including the one in the PSP requires a certain voltage to be flashed and written to? I didn't think PHP had these capabilities.
As always, you are talking out of your ass, buddy. Loading the PRX files into a Flash file won't overflow the Flash player. There has to be a REASON for the Flash player to crash. "Random data" isn't a reason. "It's a PRX file" isn't a reason.Zitat:
Zitat von madmatty
You're such a horrible liar.
Any data loaded into memory from a Flash file is loaded as a Flash object. Not as a file. You are, as ALWAYS, completely and utterly full of BS.
Don't even try to say that you meant that the PHP code was server-side, either. You literally said to insert the PHP into the flash file:Zitat:
Zitat von madmatty
Someone want to at least try it?
TO, if you can't tell he's lying, you're insane.
PSP Cannot Display PHP?
Okay, What about The PSPIRC chat, I helped wok on that and it was Written in PHP :\
Ok, the way I see it, a software downgrader is impossible unless it is brought in via modchip with an outside power source. Due to the the EEPROM requiring increased voltage to be flashed or written to, and due to a lack of potentiometer between the battery and NAND, this method madmatty is describing is not possible.
