Here is a simple idea for all the programmers in our PSP community.
The PSP is like a mobile phone, all the information regarding the software and file structure is stored on an Internal Flash.
I think that if we could get a programmer which could create a Flash Type software, which works in the same manner a Phone Unlocker Software or Firmware Changer for mobile phones then we will be able to flash any PSP to any firmware regardless of the Firmware which was on the PSP in the first place.
UP has made a flasher for there Mod Chip and this works in the same manner, the only things about the PSP is we would require a USB to Serial connector, as Sony use the serial port to flash the PSP on production.
Also something I shouldn't say but here goes, they use the serial port of the PSP to FLASH BRICKED PSP's back to life.
For everyone wondering where the serial port is.. it is the port beside your headphone socket and is used by your headphone remote.
I'm sure some programmer will have the skills, and another thing Sony don't want you to know. There is currently no way to stop you from using this port and won't be in any Firmware update as we require this to Flash your PSP when you bring it in for repair.
I've said all I can say.
