Just like to say hello to everyone first of everyone as this is my first (not first ever forum post, my first pspforum post).
Anyway, upon reading the fantastic news of the new 2.80 kernel access thing, my thoughts went to my fw3.03 psp, originally v1.5 this time last year. I read that we needed a way to execute the program which accesses this.
I know that most is executed through a tiff vulnerability the psp has. I was thinking that possibly, just by a small chance, the image viewer in Loco Roco (full version) could be used to do this?
For those unaware, in the game, you may take a photo at any time with SELECT button, which then creates a "UCES00304_ScreenShot 00X" folder in your SAVEDATA folder. In this, several files are created per pic:
1x data.BIN file
1x ICON0.PNG file (a preview/thumbnail pic)
1x PARAM.SFO file
1x PIC1.PNG file (the picture itself)
You can then from the main game menu, view these pictures or send them to your /PSP/PHOTO/Loco Roco folder. Loco Roco needs, sorry requires ver 2.60 to play, a version which had the tif vulnerability. Now, this is where the blind guess comes:
Could the homebrew people use this to their advantage? Could custom code and things be launched through this?
Thank you for your time.
