You should be able to, but a reinstallation of the theme will be required once you're done upgrading.

Why was skyfox banned? This is ridiculous. He only linked to evolves site, NEVER to a direct download. If we are going to start banning people for linking to websites that dont share the same views on illegality as QJ, then we might aswell ban anyone for linking to endless paradigm. or Maxconsole. Or even to Sendspace as they host pmf files!

Yea, I agree with him. With all due respect, NeilR as an admin, did not remove the links or ban skyfox upon seeing this thread. So i assume it was legal and not against the policies of QJ's?
owfx's 3.30oe/3.40oe theme pack contain tons of gameboot and was hosted on qj forums and dl.qj.net and he didnt get a ban?
It's funny how dl.qj.net host gameboots but forum members not allowed to. It doesn't really make sense.

Skyfox got banned because he broke the piracy policy. One week ban for all infractions. Period.

i think its ridiculous i agree with mythos if the gameboot was hosted on evolvexmb it shouldnt affect qj and yes endless paradigm has allegal stuff too which makes the reason for him being banned ridiculous

that is the rule, and he did not break it. in no way did he link to the downloadable file. To view said file you would have to go to evolves site, hunt for the download link, sign up to his site (therefore wavering any possiblility that you dont know what you are doing) and then retrieve the download..

Phil made it straightforward for a long time now, although his reason for banning both evolve and skyfox isn't exactly correct, there are reasons for why he is doing it.
1. As I said, Skyfox did provide a link with PMFs in it (don't know if he knows, hopefully he did and that was the reason he banned him)
2. You're not suppose to link to sites where there are illegal things (such as PMFs...), in this case evolve's site does have them. I don't think there should be exactly bans for that...but I guess Phil wants to make his point.

It is a little crazy, but really trying to fight it ain't gonna get them unbanned.

If you want to get into detail... I dissagree with the ban on skyfox.
The link to evolvexmb was removed in the first post? Not immediatly after it came out... a week an a half after its release... after everyone had already downloaded it. Sure there was a link to the theme on the main page of that site... but so what... the site is mant to host xmb themes.

Skyfox and team were trying to make the theme as complete as possible... so they crafted a wonderful intro pmf and gameboot for said theme.

Skyfox SHOULD NOT get banned for linking to a site where his work is hosted.

The only thing I could understand would be a direct link to the pmf.

Sorry utx.. i thought the issue has everything to do with the theme... and future theme releases in general.

If you guys make future themes and create custom intros and gameboots... everybody should be able to access them?... Do you not think so?...
Maybe QJ isn't the best site to release?

I finally have enough money to buy a new PSP :)
I'm going to make a mod of this theme probably. Still trying to think of a concept though...

You are right PMF files are not alowed it says that on the rules SO ALSO BLANK PMF FILES. Linking to site which have them are also not good now.... So I think everybody who links to sites like evolves or sendspace should be banned.
I just think the rulez must be clear and not like a own interpretation.
So this is what I want. A recification to Skyfox and a change in our download link. Otherwise we will abandon this site...
