music in homebrew splash screens
I hadn't seen this mentioned before, but I found a way to add audio to the icon/background changes when selecting homebrew apps. I have an example done on snes9x.02y13 here: http://www.oblivion.net/~nemo/snes9x.02y13-sven.zip
What I did was take a short wav file and re-save it as a wav with attributes ATRAC3 66kbps stereo. I used GoldWave. When I build the .SFO I selected that file as the .AC3. I haven't tried other bitrates. I read on another board (I forget where) that the final audio file can't be larger than 500k, but they didn't have any other useful info, so I don't know if that's just smoke or not. You can get the ATRAC3 codec from http://www.minidisc.org/atrac3.zip
Sort of a neat trick. Hope I didn't step on anyones toes with this one.
Oh, it's worth noting that I didn't need to use ATRAC3plus.
