heres what i reccamend:
go here and chose a theme.

there should be an included topmenu_plugin.rco. take that file and put it in the root of your memory stick
next download 3.02 OE Customizer (even if you have 3.03 OE-A, it will still work)
extract all the files using some extracting program. then put the psp folder into the root of your memory stick and click yes to over right.
launch 3.02 OE Customizer
go down and select copy topmenu_plugin.rco from ms0/topmenu_plugin.rco

Enable 1.5 kernel in RECOVERY and put PSPFiler in Game150

put your topmenu_plugin.rco file in x:/PSP/GAME150/__SCE__Xflash/Xflash/Modified

next, start Xflash, highlight option 14, and press LEFT on the d-pad. Press X to show system info. Next, hold R + L trigger, and press X.

It will verify the RCO and then flash it.

This is using the latest release of xflash 18h.

nope....you dont need to back up the current one
all you need is the topmenu which should be included in the pack that you download
i used this method....works great

Someone please check my icons, i did it by 64x64 pixels and in 8 bit, but can not create the topmenu_plugin rco.. the programs always say the 3rd bmp is too big or something.. can anyone please correct it for me ?

My icons are in white boxes. Will the icons be in white boxes when I put them in my PSP? And, how do I make those white boxes disappear, so that only my icons are there?

yeah all my icons are 5.05kb in size, 64x64pxl, and 8 bit (256colors).. gave it another try (forgot what i did to fix) and managed to create the topmenu_plugin.rco but also got the white boxes now..

edit:
managed to remove the white boxes, but turned out choppy on the edges..
nevermind..
i got it worked..

Could somebody fix these icons for me? I already converted them from ico to bmp and resized them ... But they won't work i think i'll have to do the windows palette fix anubis was talking about a few pages back. the prob is i don't have photoshop so it would be nice if someone could upload fixed icons with windows palette

I like it, but the bottom corner got choppedoff :(

I'm using photoshop CS2 but I can't save my images as 8-bit. The lowest I can go is 16-bit. Anyone know how to change to 8-bit?

Nevermind, I figured out how to change it to 256 colours(8-bit)

I used paint to change it to 256colours (8-bit)

Same thing happen with me but I figured out how to fix it.

When your done making your icon, just go to Image>Mode>Indexed Color. Now press ok then save it. ;)

those are the exact same icons i used to have but im using some 3d icons that i custom made to fit my psp theme

Hi, im at my wits end :Argh: converting these icons but its just not working, someone please (hate to be a nag)

Use PSPFiler, go to vsh/module in your flash0, copy it to RAMDISK and then copy to somewhere on your MS

Is there anyway to do this on a mac without the use of Virtual PC? Cuz I'm not able to use the start.cmd feature.

I have added a bash script for Linux users to generate the topmenu_plugin.rco

You will need to have installed Wine (Windows Emulator) for it to work.

Please PM with feedback and/or problems using the script.

NOT ON HOW TO INSTALL WINE!
