Perfect. The fact that the script had to be in the same directory as the icons confused me a little at first, because in the .RAR it's in a subfolder. I have yet to try flashing the resulting PRX; BTW I assume there's no problem using it with 3.03 OE-A' despite the fact that it's labelled "3.02"? The ReadMe only mentions "3.xx".

I keep Getting Icon #2 is too Big, but there the same size as all the samples on this forum that have been saying theres worked, and they're 64x64 and there 8bit, where have i gone wrong?

Yes you can use the topmenu_plugin.rco for 3.03 OE A'. I do.

I had fun writing that script.

How do you fix the photo icon transparency problem? My photo icon's kinda messed up, some transparency problem. Do I use the transparency guide in the first post to fix it?

ok i can make icons and they work fine but Im having trouble with changing my transparency in photoshop. I followed the tut but when i change black with another color, the colors get switched in my bmp and mess up my icon. what do you mean "Just manually change the colors back and you should be ok"? in the color table or the bmp?

Make sure you dont use a color that is already in your icon image and the transparent will work out fine.

ok i have black in my icon and black is the first color on the color table making it the transparent color. now i changed the background of my icon to blue since the actual icon doent have blue in it. but when i switch the black and blue in the color table the icon also switches colors. should i just make icons without black in them??

Is there a EXE that can edit the topmenu for 3.03? I don't want to mess up with a Hex editor.

Anubis, provided I do not want to change my XMB's text, could I use a 3.03 topmenu_plugin.rco with custom icons? Are those "encrypted" too? How could I proceed?

no you cannot.

In 2.60, the XMB text is encrypted but you can still change the icons.

At 2.70+ both XMB text and icons are encrypted.

So we're stuck with 2.50 :p

isnt it like 3.00 top menu kinda. just a lil edited?

what you mean palette selection? i did all the bmp in photoshop and change the transparency to light green and had open it with paint to change the background and still doesn't work

Why don't you use Topmenu Generator GUI?

Sorry, I'm a real freakin' n00b at this thing. I use the 3.02 topmenu generator for 3.03 OE-A', right?

Tried to redo in different way but STILL can't do it =.=;
all 5.05kb
image size 64x64 pixel
index color -> local adaptive -> first color is 18f807
save as bmp

open with paint and painted the outer area light green from black

convert and still get icon to big

Don't use Local adaptive.

Use Windows Palette and then set the diffusion to 100% so it looks better.

Do all your .bmp's have to be the same size? If so, what size?

I suggest you use PSPFiler though.

If you follow the specifications its always going to be 5.05kb...

As I said before, if you follow the specifications THEY WILL BE 5.05 KB!

When you resize them to 64*64 and change them to 8-bit indexed colors they will be 5.05 KB.

I took PSPHax0r9's (I think...?) gold icons and erased some of the edges. Then, I put them back as Indexed images, but no luck....... and yes, they are 64x64....

naw i used xflashed and it worked perfect.....i just put the topmenu_plugin.rco and placed in the modified folder press L+R triggers then X boom new icons on psp....THNX anyway Crushader for the help man...to anybody i really recommend X-FLASH
