it looks like a portable hard drive thing. I am wondering though if you can transfer files from the thing to a memory stick. it could be good for taking alot of roms with you on the go without having to buy a boatload of memory sticks. or for saving movies on as well or anything else.

Damn...I might have to look into this. I was contimplating getting a 2 gig stick when they come out but this is about the same price only 40 gigs...nice.

Its not what you think it is though, it can only TRANSFER files onto your mem card, not ACT as if it is one.

here is a description of the second model i listed

to me is seems like the second one can transfer files from the hd to the memory stick.

Yes, but that's not such a problem. If you have, say, a 256MB stick, it's not that hard to wipe the stick and replace it with new content from the portable disk when you want it.
