"HOPES" of FF VII

OMFG!!! I just downloaded the video of the guy playing final fantasy on his psp, and I almost creamed my jeans! Just for prologue, it has always been my dream to play Final Fantasy VII wherever I go, I mean combine portability with my favorite game of all time--- you get the point. Here is what I (and I am sure alot of other people too) want 2 know.

1. Did the guy just download a video of himself playing FF VII through a "fake emu" or is it actually possible to play FF VII on my [HOLY] PSP?

2. If it is possible, is there any organization (or a really enthusiastic person) making a straight homebrew port or am I going to have to wait for the PSPONE emulator to get fully functional?

3. With either of these options am I going to be able to play FF VII fully on one 1gb mem. stick? Or am I going to have to wait for the 2gb sticks?

4. And___ if the PSPONE emu could handle an FF VII rom, how long would I have to wait until it is possible? (I mean the VBA emu still lags, COME ON!)

I know there are other fanatics out there that have investigated this *issue*, so please post.

I wish I could understand what was so great about FFVII. It got so boring for me after a few hours. General consensus around here is although a PSX emulator is theoretically possible, it would most likely run at less then 5 FPS at this point.

I dreamed last nite about that, but it was final fantasy 8, my ALL TIME second favorite game, before VII of course.

Answer: FAKE! It's just a video :)

Answer: You're going to have to wait until a fully functional PS Emu is out...a homebrew port is not possible due to this game not being open source.

You would be fine on a 1 gb stick (maybe even a 512 if there is compression) you would just need to hold 1 disc of info at a time. (It's not like your really going through a full disc in 1 play session or anything) When you finish the first disc just replace it with the second disc etc. etc.

4. And___ if the PSPONE emu could handle an FF VII rom, how long would I have to wait until it is possible? (I mean the VBA emu still lags, COME ON!)

Who knows...If I knew the answer to that I would be rich (due to being able to tell the future lol) All I can say is it's probably a long way off but it will happen someday!

cant you just use Resource Hacker on the PC version and port it(though this is illegal)

I agree that its probally fake and all, but remember people-most of us all said that the 1st video of homebrew on 1.5 was fake and low and behold, IT WASN"T! remember, innocent until proven fake.

Me to, i played that game it isn't anything great, I like Skies of arcadia for dreamcast a lot more.

The game was a landmark. :clap:

Skies of Arcadia is the only RPG i can really play anymore. After playing that, FF seems like crap.

Alright, so can anyone post me a link to the resource hacker, or would that go against the forum's no Rom policy?

And WTF? Why does Skies of Arcadia make FF look like crap? Or is it just yo' preference of a different battle system for once? Because that and the world map are the only differences with FF.

Oh yeah, and just for a side note, JGR was the best game for the Dreamcast (well, Soul Calibur is a contender too ;D).

Whats JGR? and the reason it's better is that the ship batles and dungons are very good, so is the game plot, the graphics are great, And it's not in a post aplocyse place like FFVII is.

You can use it to edit the scripts in .exe's and any other windows executable file. So im guessing if you redo some of some of the script or setup up a programing environment for PSP copy, paste, edit. Although i may be 100% wrong.

oh, i had to trade a kid my GTA2 for ps1 for that game,

this is offtopic, but for those of you who don't know, there is a playstation emulator for pocket pc's called FPSEce.. it works great! I played through the beginning portions of Final Fantasy VII, Front Mission 3, Xenogears and Final Fantasy Tactics.. it's all fully playable with all the movies intact.. movies run a little choppy for now but new versions are coming out..

all you need is a ppc running at 624mhz.. I generally leave my psp at home, and take it out for outings or trips.. but my ppc stays with me always. I recommend the dell axim x50v (~300)..

all im saying is that in all FF games I've played, it seems like the game leads you by the hand on a preset path. It just feels too "controlling"

Skies of Arcadia on the otherhand, is more open ended and feels like that too. Plus, Pirates will ALWAYS be cool, no matter what.

well its not controlling it just has boundarys like ALL video games, if that was the case wed have a game where we could just do whatever we wanted, hmmm i want to have a sword so let me typeit in and BINGO ;)

If you love FF so much, get all of the old Snes roms. I have FF2-FF7 on my Snes emu.

Having one thread about this fake is bad enough but two? Pure spam!
