But my fave was the original Red version. I got all the Pokemon for that one even Mew. That ate a good month of my live. And cos of my gameboy being one of the original gameboys (huge and heavy) i got some awesome blisters, but it was fun getting them.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I had the red version cos my mate had the blue version. I don't see how blue was any better then red (they are the same game). You may have thought that the pokemon that you can get in Blue were better then in Red but I didn't have Blue on the Gameboy I had Red. So in my "opinion" red was better.

Sorry dude I had red as the actual game for the Gameboy and as far as I'm aware there isn't any way to copy the save to pc without buying any add ons.

There is nothing wrong with pokemon. Go take a look at the gba ones. Those games have depth that most console games cant touch.

Yes, resident evil 4 is a great game (although it loses points for not being progressive) and i thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I just happen to enjoy all games, regardless of whether they are considered "childish" or whatnot. It has nothing to do with "being a man"

lol well the tv show of pokemon sucked. And my mate had the game for his gameboy and it seemed like you just collected these weird animals. With terribly childish names. This was when i was around 15 i think. I played it for an hour during school and it seemed ok i suppose. Sort of like a collecting game. But it appeared to lack any form of story and depended on only the element on having to get them all. I mean if the games fun u can lose the story without hurting it to much, but if the story is to collect them all and all u do is battle all the time its boring.

Do not misunderstand me, its not like im trying to rabidly defend pokemon here. But the bashing that it receives is, in my view, completely unfounded. People look at the exterior and pass it off as just some gotta catch them all game with nothing more to it. Yes training is part of the game, but when you get into movesets, EP values, DV amounts, the game really opens up.

I still find it amusing that Shin MEgami Tensei: Nocturne does the same thing (collecting monsters, fighting with them, "breeding them" by combining them and controlling their movesets is considered alright, but pokemon is garbage.

If you look at it this way then it really isn't childish at all. You are playing an RPG, you can meet and control 150+ characters and explore a world and go anywhere you wan't (once you have progressed far enough). People flaming pokemon because all you do is collect things, then they surely must hate a lot of games (platformers mainly).

Banjo-Kazooie - Collect 100 notes, 10 jigsaw puzzle pieces, 5 little creature things on a level, repeat each level.
Mario Sunshine - Collect 100 coins, 8 shine sprites, 30 blue coins on a level, repeat each level.

Te list goes on but you see my point you can't really hate pokemon for collecting things. If they changed the catch phrase from gotta catch em all to gotta trap em all and force them to fight then im sure it would appeal to more people who consider it childish.

Hey screw you, padre. I may be a Sony fan, but I definately now a good game when I see one. Pokemon is a definate masterpiece from Nintendo(but sure as hell not enough to save them). I'm a year away from being allowed to drink and drive without an adult(but I do that anyways), and yet I'll still play any Pokemon up to this day.

Heh agreed. Even though the game did a fine job of translating the card game to portable form, The card game never really appealed to me. Very few card games appeal to me, Although PSO ep 3 and Baiten Kaitos were pretty well done.

well im 15 1/2, the last time i played pokemon was when i was like 13. anywas about the pokemon games haveing depth, that is very true. the newest one for the gba, ruby and sapphire, are probable one of the most Sophisticated games iv ever seen. and this i say because of the chain breeding.(pokemon lovers, you know what i mean) chain breeding goes so indepth, that it takes a lot of knowledge to fully comprehend. but if there was a rin emu that used ad hoc as a link cable and utilized the ir port then i would definately go back to playing pokemon.
