I expect 2.0 compatibility (please) :Punk: . It would be so great to have 2.0 compatibility and maybe it would encourage other authors to do the same.

I'm fairly sure that kirby Superstar is one of the most loved and most requested roms for snes. It is a terrible shame that it runs like a crippled grandmother in a swamp because it is such a beautiful game.
The authors of snes tyl have stated that "Tyl may never be fast enough to run every SNES rom" and many are hoping that they prove themselves wrong with this release.
I myself am hoping to get some Super Mario RPG action going on!

A little overdue?!
According to the good folks who work on SNES TYL, the new version was supposed to be released last friday.
Where has it gone and why?!
WHY AM I NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW?!

Just be patient a little bit. I know these guys are working on it, and we all can expect that little speed boost, that makes absolute majority of games perfectly playable. It seems they they believe in themselves and that they will succeed.
BUT: Never expect TYL for Fanjita Boot-Loader.... they themselves declare user mode as too slow. Either there will be another exploit or buy two PSPs, otherwise you will have to decide between gaming or homebrew.Geändert von lkjhgf206 (11-13-2005 um 11:14 AM Uhr)

I was under the opinion that multiplayer was in the works for this version or was that just a goal for some later release?

Most games will probably run 55-60 fps standard. Some will still need tweaks. Possible 2 player support in this or the next version.

Yeah, it's awesome, but now me and my girlfriend have ti down to like, a couple hours a game, so playing all the hacks is more fun. Also, I want Super Mario RPG to work at a decent speed D:

Well, right now Tales of Phantasia is running perfect for me, although the sound has to be turned off. I would expect them to be working on better audio.

This version might be one big ass file though since Y is working with them on it, but as long as it's good i don't give a care.

What was wrong with the last version they had? It seems to work fine and now they come out with a new one that does the same exact thing. They should just move on to the next project, maybe the GBA emu.

They can do what they want, and what they want made a lot of people happy.
Zitat von MustardGas
Though a GBA emu would make a lot of people happier, it doesan't look like it'll be aroudn any time soon...but relax...we got another 4-5 years for one...that is, if
s/crackers keep cracking $ony's firmwares..

It seems to be really quit lately without anything new or updates on emu's coming out. Im surprise the gba is not running at near full speed already. I remember a couple months back one guy worked on it and released the source codes. Not sure if that helps any.
-
11-26-2005, 02:54 AM #30
No, it doesn't help for you actually need someone who is willing to devote their time to it and many developers would automatically stay away from the project because GBA is still sold on the mass market. I think if you wanna play GBA games, go buy yourself a GBA, or yet better, buy yourself a DS that way you can have your own offical "GBA/DS Emulator" from Nintendo.
Back on topic, I'm really hoping that their could be an included function to turn off the finding of the ips file. That thing has caused some troubles with some of my games that are multi-patched.
