Has anyone actually gotten in trouble for having roms and such on their PC's?

It is not like we get a door to door police men checking our files to make sure we are not doing it.

We ALL do it anyways....Around 97% of the people with internet do it.

People are rarely arrested for possesion of roms. It's usually people who host them on the net who get in trouble. Thats why programs like Limewire, Kazaa and BitTorrent are so popular now. Almost anyone could create a filesharing server and make millions overnight.

The only thing that can happen to you is your ISP ban you. But get the right ISP and that will never happen, i've heard Shaw enforce their laws a fair bit of the time and indeed know two people who got their computer seized for torrents, they were both using Shaw. I heard telus is very leniant.

Much like Sweden/Russia, they don't have any copyright laws either (they don't have many internet laws either)

Pirate bay have several rather amusing copyright infringement/legal threats posted on their website. Quite amusing really. I have several friends living in Sweden and they all have 10Mbit+ broadband equivalent connections (it uses different technology from what they tell me and it's dirt cheap to use it). They also have very big hard drives that are filled to the brim, hint hint ;).
