Dragon Warrior 4 Movement Issues

Has anyone else experienced this/know how to fix it? When playing DW4 my character can move left and right much faster than he can up and down. It's extremely noticable and somewhat aggrivating. I've tried messing around with faster clock speeds and skipped frame rates, but nothing seems to make the up and down movement at the same rate as left and right.

I haven't tried any of the other RPGs that are similar to DW4 yet, other than Crystalis and Ys II which don't have that problem. Then again, they also aren't on a grid system quite like the DW series (adjacent squares, no diagonal movement).

Any help on this would be great. Even just knowing that I'm not the only one who's noticed this would be nice.

I'm not positive, but it appears to be your ROM. I have a rom of DW4 and it plays fine for me.

Try setting the cpu to 240mhz, that fixed all problems I was having in DW IV.
