I'm going to try these settings with Dragon Quest VII. I REALLY want that game to run perfectly cuz' that's what'll keep it worth remembering. I loved VII, so I going for VI now.
Dragon Quest 7 isnt on SNES.....you are talking about 6 right?Zitat:

I'm definately interested in Breath of Fire and Earthbound.
I play it fine on the Snes9x 0.03a but you gotta have the system 333 and like 3-4 frameskipZitat:

I remember that Breath of Fire II didnt work for me on Y version before Y14..Zitat:
Zitat von Kold Kalamity
Breath of Fire I i think was the same
Glad to see both of them working now...
Also..not an RPG but something noteworthy....Harvest Moon now works!!!!!!!!!!
Yes i know it works on 0.03 but i dont want a second SNES emulator for only 1 game...other than Tales of Phantasia Y15 beats out 0.03a in every wayZitat:
Zitat von ZeRoLiMiT
I meant the one on PlayStation. It's a major leap from VI. No, scratch that, a downgrade. But I love the franchise.Zitat:
Zitat von Legion120802
oh you're in new york no wonder you're hot
its burnin up here
I don't know lol w/ all the games I play on the psp *snes* I prefer 0.03a over Y's just feels better to me... guess thats why theres always optionsZitat:

Where you at? I'm on the 2nd floor of my house...too stupid to grab the remote and turn on the AC....us New Yorkers are pretty dumb huh?Zitat:
Zitat von kingsh*t
Try Y15....333HMZ with 11KHZ sound and 2-3 Frameskip (Max, sometimes no FrameSkip is needed) everything runs fine...FF3 on Y15 runs better for me then it does on 0.03a..it actually runs Perfect for me :DZitat:

By the way....did you test out Super Mario RPG yet? If so...how do you think it is now?
its definately playable now its kinda hard since im trying to study for my license ,play mario ,and browse the forums all at the same time
Other than the sound running a little slow....i think overall the game is 100% playable :D Great News for RPG fans....Super Mario RPG was truly and amazing RPG...i wish Super Mario RPG 2 was made the same way :(
there is a super mario rpg 2 ?
Yes..Paper Mario is Super Mario RPG 2...sad isn't it?
i didnt think paper mario was that bad. mario rpg is still better
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga can also be seen as a continuation of the series.Zitat:

The day i get panzer bandit on the psp. i will die a happy man.
woah! so last time I checked this thread it was at 3 posts.. looks like there's plenty of people passionate about the series. so thank you all for your input. I'm going to take them to heart.
first off, I've still been strugglingt through ff1. I've been running around elfland leveling up.. every time I try to go into the marsh cave I end up dying, so im trying to get my level high and tons of spells (im lvl 9 or 10 for all my chars now). I think my biggest problem is that im just not good at these turned base games. the rpg's im used to playing are either hacknslash, mmorpgs, and d&d type (baldurs gate series). i suppose this will just take some getting used to.
i am enjoying ff1, however, im not really getting that into it, just since there isn't much of a story to get into.
as for the others. I'm tempted to just go out and buy 7 or 8. maybe something with more of a consistent storyline (and yes, even better graphics) might thrust me into the whole series a little more willingly.
I don't think I'd be wrong in saying that a huge portion of the people who love ff love it for the stories.. and that you're the same people who enjoy reading great novels... whether fantasy/sci fi, whatever. and I do as well, so I know once I get past the fact that I suck at these games, maybe I can focus more on the story and a little less on dying :shifty:
so unless i beat this marsh cave pretty damn soon, im gonna have to give up on ff1 and start a different one. maybe ill just go with ffIII, as most of you seem to agree that it's the best.
thanks again everyone for responding, and feel free to tell me more!

why else would they be making a sequel to it now, after thier already up to X? (10)
because its the best storyline theyve ever came up with.
view the bad ass video to the sequel to 7, Final Fantasy ADVENT CHILDREN
here
If you're willing jsut go out and pick up FF vii. It has imho the best story line out of any of the games. Sephiroth is also the best villian of the series...though kefka comes close. The music draws you in and there is plenty to do. Anyone that say this game sucks is no better than the fan-boys that say its the best one even though it's the only one they've played. I have played every FF game since i was about 12 and it's my favorite. Great characters, story, graphics for the time, and Square is basing five other games and a movie on it so it must be doing something right. The materia system used in the game is my favorite of any RPG ever and allows aot of character to become alot of different types of warriors. There is plenty of extra stuff to find and you can really get into unlocking secrets. There are mini games and the battle arena to keep you busy trying to get Omnislash. Because this game has brought tons of fans into the RPG genre, I can all but guarantee that it will do the same for you. Keep in mind that 6,8, and 10 (although tidus is a little whiney for my taste) are also don't miss games, each has something unique that it brings to the table, but start with the best overall game in the series.
Ugh, did you even READ HALF of what i had to say after that, or did you see that and immediately hit the quote button?Zitat:
Zitat von PSPfreak
Anyway Legion, what did you think of SaGa Frontier 2?
maybe reading is a hard thing for him to do
so half.com has ffVII for psx for just $16 (brand new). think ill pick one up and bust out the ps2. :whistle:Zitat:
Zitat von stoic
Good choice
After your done...play six and see what you like about each.
i like FF IX best, beast story line, the Eildons are the best looking, like with 10 bahumut has that gay ring...7 he looks weak, also 9's equip it, have it, learn it system was the best...ya know?
i also like 9 the best, i played it so many times.. and i never get bored of itZitat:
Zitat von Aftermath
no i didnt, this is a long F'n thread and i dont have forever to look at every post, but regardless download the video, its sweet. :DZitat:

HERE
Hot damn, I forgot Dragon Quest VII was on the PSX... I let my friend borrow it, and now the guy can't find it due to him moving... Oh well...
Anyways, does anyone know how to use the ips patch program under WinXP? I just wanted to patch up Dual Orb 2. And I'm gonna try out Bahamat Lagoon later tonight.
And to those who love the SaGa series, you should give Romancing Saga 2/3 a try even if they are partially translated. Although they don't have the DSC ability, the same (if not better) gameplay still exists. Romancing Saga 2 is the only japanese game that I have finished on the SNES (with that stupid conventer). Still brings me chills when I hook up my SNES back just to do whoop on the final boss again. And I can't even read Japanese... Heh.
Unfortunately, I didn't have much fun with IX... Ended up falling asleep many a times to eventually not finishing it for a year (although I made it to Disc 4), then starting from scratch just to say i finished every FF out so far... and FFXI doesn't count, but I'm a lvl 56 Dark Knight... anyhooZitat:
Zitat von sei
The whole equip a summon and learn from it system was done in FF VI as well...and FF VI is also the best on in the series...the idea for 7 came from 6...Zitat:
Zitat von Aftermath
You wanna know why SaGa Frontier is so great? The gameplay...that's for sure...and also those AMAZING characters :D Timelord owns...Red is awesome...Blue/Rouge is sweet too...and what could beat the almighty sword skill Life Sprinkler??
