Default SRAM Save. What the heck is that?

2 questions, on some emus, it says SRAM save, whats that? and also GRAPHIC and SOUND speed, what exactly do those settings do? Turning them up usally either causes glitching or freezeing.

SRAM is the internal save that would be on the cart
turning it on emulates this feature so you can appear to save on the cart as you normally would on a game
