Question language patch installation

How do you install language patches in your emulator?? I searched around and didnt find anything on it. Do you just put the patch where the roms are or is there some special area for it?
thanks in advance.

Did you play Star Ocean past the intro? Because I thought that my "Translated" Star Ocean wasn't translated because of that as well, but once I got past the intro the dialog box was english.
