Breath of Fire II ERROR

Has anyone tried Breath of Fire II for SNES on their PSP, whenever you play it, as soon as you start the first official battle(winnable or escapable)(with the two main characters), it doesnt matter if you run or win, the game freezes up when going back to the map, the PSP doesnt freeze, but the game does.

Is there a way to get through this problem such as a different emulator or changing in settings.

BTW, I was using SNES9X TYL(the latest one).

This same problem happened in the PC, but until SNES9X came out, it was solved

Yea, Is your ROM. I just won 3 battled on the world map (After it says 10 years later and your looking for a pet). So just use another copy of BOF2.

Absolutely. If you have a full romset, though, you might not know which rom to copy over, since it has all the versions (including bad dumps).

well you can set goodtools to organize the roms into folders like overdump, baddump, region etc etc. plus thats why it adds those nice [!] [ b] [o] (J) icons after the names.

personally i always add [!] the latest version (1.1) etc. and/or latest build (29576). of course if theres only one [!] i add that.

edit: ill try to find a simple tutorial for those who dont regularly use cowerings goodtools.

From the Roms I downloaded, there is no romset, I just have one file, and that is what usually is needed to play the game, and I downloaded another rom of Breath of Fire II, however, I did not play it because of the reason that it played slower than my other rom version.

I don't believe anyone so far I have gotten about 6 roms from six seperate places made by different people and all have had the same problem. If somone has one that really works maybe they could make a save state a little past the first battle in adulthood and pass it out. If I could get it to work I would.

Well, I found a rom, however its really slow, compared to the version I had that froze....gotta look for another rom file of the game....

Though it was surprising that it still works....it doesnt freeze up at all.

Found another website that had the rom, used it, and the game played alot faster, and it doesnt freeze. Now only if they could make a better emulator that runs the game normal speed and with normal sound as the original.

are you using SNES TYL 0.2c
having your clock speed set @ 333mhz and sound quality turned down at least one step? and Vsync off?

The problem is not that it works it is a glitch that freezes the game after the children grow into the adults and you enter the first combat. If you guys actually do have it working past that point how about making a save state and giving it out to the rest of us poor saps :icon_wink
