Star Ocean help
I know problems like this have probably been posted before, but I have not been able to find them with the search function.
Anyway, here is the problem. After a bit of searching, I found a Star Ocean ROM. When I load it on my pc with SNES9x it works perfectly, but when I placed the ROM in my psp (the .zip file only contained the game and nothing else) and tried to load it, the game would freeze at the "loading ROM..." prompt then eventually shut down my psp instead of playing. I've attempted this with a file that was already translated and one that I put the patch on myself and both came to the same result.
While looking through posts and using search for a problem similar to mine I came across one that said to use the uosnes(?) emulator for ROMS with big files (and I think the guy mentioned Star Ocean as being a big file as well). Since I tried everything else I could think of, I tried to download this when I found it on this site. The link only led me to a list of SNES9X emulators that I already had and thus, that plan failed as well.
Thanks in advance for any help given.

I've had the same problem, I think Star Ocean is just a pain to emulate.

strange, I'm running Star Ocean with Fanjita's .85 and .9 boot loader for 2.00...
have you tried unzipping the rom file?
I found out that it will read the zip, but not seem to play it for me for every game i tried.

its probably the rom. im also using the eboot loader on 2.0 and havent had any problems. The only problem is the jumpy framerate. Star Ocean is also one of the biggest games for snes, but that should be the problem. Try getting it at a different site. If you need some rom sites just give me a pm.

You mean: if you bought this game when it came out, and you want to play it on your PSP, PM him!

No. PMs are outlined in the forum policies just as well as email and posts.

This worked. Thank you very much. I didn't try it before because all my other ROMS were still zipped and still ran perfectly, but once I just put the .smc file on the psp instead of the .zip it worked.

It's alright, I have a really long list of sites to get ROMS from.. lol. Thanks anyway.
