Game Genie on Nes Roms. HELP

I'm a n00b on these forums, but I have a question.

How do you enter in Game Genie codes when using the NES roms ? I see that there is an option for it when you go to the menu during gameplay, but I don't know what to do with it.

first open up a new Notepad and type in the codes you want to use. save the txt file to your "Save" folder. when you start up a ROM go to the menu and select "enter Game Genie code". go to the "Save" folder and load the .txt file and you'll get a message at the top that says "code entered successfully"
