I haven't read the last million posts in this thread, but if you're expecting to learn Japanese just for the sake of video gaming, it's not going to work. Trust me, I should know. You wouldn't know where to start. On top of that, there's kanji which I know you will have no freakin' idea is. Take some Japanese classes. If you're in college, I say at least 1 or 2 semesters will do you some good. I've taken 4 years of Japanese back in high school and I still have problems trying to understand what is being said. If I heard the text being spoken, it's easier but from text alone, it's pretty hard.

And pinktank....you're Japanese is a bit broken xD. I know I wouldn't have given the correct way of saying it but I already know you're saying it incorrectly.

Hmm...what's that first kanji? I don't recognize it. If it's meant to be "I," You used the wrong kanji.

    It should really be:
私は フランス人 です。 どうぞ よろ しく。
    Watashi(wa) Furansu(jin) desu. doozo yoroshiku.

When using the particle "wa," the character for "ha" is used. This is so you don't get confused with other words. It's a bit weird but you should probably take some note of that part.

    はじまして。私の 名前は アギレラ 二ール です。 どうぞ よろしく。
大学の 一年生で 十八才 です。 コンソールの PSP すきです。

But for being self-taught, ティマレ-くん, you're doing pretty good.

Why is everyone arguing with each other over their japanese? It's obvious noone is fluent.
Like Shortboy correcting that other dude. Like Timale saying his kanji was right, which it is. As is 俺 which is another male way of saying "I".

So stop fighting among yourselves because it's obvious noone is perfect!
To know how to read japanese for roms is the same as for any other written japanese in the world. It's gonna take you a hell of a long time. Not only do you have to actually know japanese, you have to know the kanji and what they stand for otherwise you won't get anywhere.

You should just learn japanese and then one day you can play all the new japan only games that come out:)

Usually I don't trust the web based (or soft based) translations.
Just get a Japanese paragraph, and make it English, then use that English to translate back Japanese, in most cases, the original and the created won't match. (Or try the other way around)
Hahaha, dude, I just tried that with Google Translator.

Doesn't mean if you have Chinese, you get Japanese.
Could be easier since some of the characters are the same, while we don't follow all of them. It's like since it uses the same alphabet, will it be easy to learn French before learning English? vice versa.

let me just say something, you dont just magically take medicine and learn japanese. It takes about 4-5 years to have a basic understanding of any foriegn language

by that time your roms will no longer fun to play.

Yea well, If you learn Japanese you learn some Chinese as well or vice versa. Its easier to learn japanese because the sentence structure for each sentence is most of the time the same.

Since Japanese is a mixture of many languages, It'll be easier for the next follow-up language, especially Chinese.
Chinese is the #1 most difficult language in the world, I guess, what do you think?

Since Japanese is a mixture of many languages, It'll be easier for the next follow-up language, especially Chinese.
Chinese is the #1 most difficult language in the world, I guess, what do you think?
Japanese is a mixuture of many languages...
Umm.. sorry, isn't other languages a mixture of others as well?

Also there's no such thing as most difficult language compared to others. This will all depend on what native you speak in, (unless the language is a long lost language) but, get a baby and watch him, about 3-5 years later, he'll usually get that language which his parents speak. Averagely, should be the same around the world.
