I have a question about GB/GBC/GBA games
since Gamesharks & other cheat devices were all the rage back then, especially with games like Pokemon & Legend of Zelda, i was wondering if theres a way to use gameshark, action replay or whatever since i been replaying pokemon crystal for the last week or so. im asking this since......obviously there isnt a way to trade pokemon playing on the PSP, unless there IS a hack for that

Don't know about Pokemon. but generaly speaking..
I think the Gameshark codes edit certain memory offsets in RAM.
You might be able to try altering the ROM file for the game on your HDD with a hex editor.
The data that gives you three lives has to exist in the ROM file somewhere.

Yes, I know for the GBA flash cart I have for my GBM that there are a few "patches" that can be applied directly to the ROM file itself that will allow for cheats to be used inside the game itself without the need for an external device/hack. I did it to the GBA version of Lunar once to get unlimited gold.
Thanks for reminding me of that one, Art.

Never tried it myself,
but I did bruit force an unlimited balls code for a pinball game on the Playstation 1
with a real gameshark :) bloody took forever.
If the way the data is represented in the cheat code devices could be figured out,
(address/ data) a software gameshark could be created for each emulator could it not?
Art.
