Mr. Do! Works But...
The little guy moves around the screen like he's constipated.
I've tired tweaking the frameskip and clocking speed but he just never seems to be able to get up to a decent playable speed. This was one of my favorite arcade games as a kid and i'd love to be able to play this.
Anyone have any good success stories with it?
Best,

that's strange... because Mr. Do! plays just fine on either MAME or SNES.
Did you change CPU Clock from 222 to 333Mhz?? that's the only reason I could think of if you are having a major slowdown for that game.
Anyway, your description of being 'constipated' was hilarious~ :razz:PSP RULES!!! DA BEST!!!

Hey Vic... i'm sure it's clocked at 333. At 222 Mr Do would barely move. Even at 333 i'm lagging like he's dragging an anchor behind him

you know, you are probably right...
this game happens to be my old favorite too and didn't think it was slow at all. I just played MAME version on PC and it's 'bit' faster than PSP counterpart. However, I wouldn't say it's considerably faster because the difference is pretty subtle in my opinion.
I guess the major difference is that PC version doesn't have any kind of slowdown, however, PSP version does have some slowdown when there are lot of moving objects on screen.
I just played them both again, and I think it plays just fine on PSP.
Yes, I'm pretty picky when it comes to an emulation, but I believe Mr. Do! on PSP is just fine.. just fine.
Let me just show you my setting just in case:
SNES9xTYL 0.3
Frequency: 44Khz (you must set it on 44 for this version)
GFX engine: PSP accel. + accu.soft.
Frameskip: 1
Rendering: 1:1 (resolution is just awesome)
Smoothing: on
Speed limit: on
Video sync: off
CPU clock: 333Mhz
well, good luck manPSP RULES!!! DA BEST!!!

Hey Vic, maybe here's the problem. i'm almost sure i had frameskip on 3. Let me tweak it a little. If you can get it to play at an acceptable level it must be something i'm doing wrong.
Thanks again for your help and patience.

p.s. have you ever tried Magic Sword SNES on the PSP. Here's another old arcade fav that looks beautiful on the PSP
