Translated rom not showing text right

About two months ago I was playing a translated Star Ocean perfectly fine, but now I can't seem to get it to work. I tried SnesX, UoSnes and my favorite SnesTYL and nothing works. In some places the text will appear Japanese and be jumbled up. Can anyone reccomend a solution?

Your savestate may have gotten corrupted. Try deleting that then running it again. I've know NES roms that just went completely nuts if I did a state load when I played them. For example, the Yo! Noid game became a scrambled, jumbled mess, though it was still playable.

Well, I don't really have any save states for the game yet X_X
I didn't have any emulators on my ms for about a month then every time I try the game it won't show some of the text properly. The in game dialogue seems perfect but items, and when I name the character it gets all weird.
Now that I think of it maybe part of my rom got corrupted, I'll have to try another rom to see if that works.

It worked, stupid me for not realzing that my rom was corrupted.

Perhaps you have to change the Rendering(GFX), from PSP Accelerated to something else,when I played Secret of Mana 2(Seiken Densestu 3), the text was jumbled up, and I changed it to PSP Accurate, and it was readable.

But that is weird when you said that you have Star Ocean I, I have the same game, and no matter what GFX i put it was normal, try doing that, or get a new rom of the game.

Note-oh yeah, its weird, but I played Fire Emblem on my PC, and it was in Japanese, but when I played it on the PSP, it was in English. Weird.........

Hey, yeah. Good call. The text in Secret of Mana was messed up before I changed it to "psp accel.+approx software".

yeah its just your graphics engine just change it to anything else
