u can do this on gbc and gba but they fixed it when pokemon ruby/sapp came out.

btw i got rinv1.3.1.zip and 2.5 firmware and pokemon sillllver! and silver is the same as gold so i dont see it not working.

Ok ppl if its like it was on GBC then u should have one duped pokemon in ur party and one in box 1 (or wherever u deposited it) but i remember my 2 lv 99 typhlosions, 2 lv 87 lugias, my lv 99 celibi, n my beloved 99 mew !,,! >.< !,,!
