it doesn't work because the pokemon time runs on a teeny battery inside the cartridge. The energy left in the battery - the time you set in the game when you start= the time in your game, but since this is a rom, it doesn't have the battery, so no subtraction. The game will stay the same time forever! mines set to 10:29
Homer says he found the "key" to fix this problem which will be on the next Homer's RIN.

...You save the game -NOT- using save states AT LEAST once. That always worked for me. Time worked perfectly...even passed the correct amount of time when I started back up (worked when I had 2.00 and the eboot loader, too). If your using a loader, btw...I think you have to save, then switch to another ROM for the save to properly save to the memory stick.
There is also a Pokemon Crystal hacked rom that lets you change the time by pressing up and down while looking at the clock, if the save method doesn't work for you for some mysterious reason.Geändert von Insane1 (02-13-2006 um 03:04 PM Uhr)

I actually just stated how to get time working directly above. Although with Gold, silver, crystal...there is yet a 2nd way to change the time (2nd because the save solution I gave doesn't let you change, it keeps track itself and changes automatically). But the 2nd time requires you to either know a time reset password specific to your game based on a trainer code and other factors (There was a password generator somewhere at one time, but that sites gone I think...). or you could get a ROM hacked so that you don't need the password and just need to hit the key combo on the start screen. (The crystal hack just lets you change it by pressing up and down while viewing the clock in-game however)

The game time worked for me. It didn't matter if I used the game save or the save state of the emulator the time was always correct,

this thread should be closed, the new version of rin fixed the pokemon time problem already.. keeping this open would be a bit redundant
Nice going Homer!! :)You can, therefore you must.
