Why is this under ROM discussion?
Probably because it fits best here. The only other place where it might go is "Off Topic", but it really isn't off topic. ROMS are the video games, these video games are what we played. It's not really "off topic". Hard to explain.Zitat:

Meh... I thought there was a general video game discussion board...
Started with the Amstrad CPC 464, had shedloads of games, Chuckie Egg, Paperboy, Summer & Winter Games... the list goes on. Sparked my interest in games and this is the list of consoles i've had since:
Sega Master System (model 1)
Sega Mega Drive (model 1)
Sega Mega CD (model 1)
Sega 32X
Sony Playstation
Sega Dreamcast
Microsoft Xbox
Nintendo Gamecube
Sony PStwo
Tiger Game.com
Nintendo Gameboy
Nintendo Gameboy Color
Nintendo Gameboy Advance
Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP
Sony Playstation Portable
I think thats all of them :)
i own all of those systems except 32x and i also have the 7800Zitat:

and for those who want to know the first video game console was the oddsesy
I personally started out late on the 7800, and really consider the NES my foundation in gaming (afterall, I'm only 20).
I too started with adventure...for the good ol' atari 2600.Zitat:

My first gaming system would be the game gear, i remember playin sonic for hours and hours and power rangers. then it broke like 100 times :( . then i got the nes after that and then gameboy/gbc, n64, gba, ps2, psp
Hmm, maybe Game Gear was my first "system" as well. I still have it in my closet :). I hated the dolphin game, it's one of the hardest games i've played for it. Sonic was one of the best on that "handheld". *goes in closet*, *searches for Sonic*, *puts PSP away*.Zitat:

i was a child of the NES.. ahhh yes.. the NES...... when pirates were nothing but characters in movies and novels :)... the good old days......
N64 for me. Then PS2, PC,PS1, all of the classics, GCN, and finally XBOX.

If its Duck Hunt, then the system in question would be an NES.
They made those in black? man, i remember them all being traffic cone orange...Zitat:

as for me, I spent hours as a kid playing pitfall 2 on the 2600... kept that thing in working order until about 1996, when my mom snuck it off and sold it in a moving sale to some dude whose kid had just got run over by a truck and got both his legs broken and wanted to find something to entertain him over the summer....
she sold it and all the games (i had just about everything) to him for twenty bucks, cause he was from the ghetto and didn't have much...
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the kid got it, but at this point in time I can't decide if I would have rathered that she sold my snes and games for twenty bucks... i miss my atari, and snes's aren't as hard to come by.

Yeah, I had the black/grey one, until my dad gave away our old NES about five years ago. I bought a NES at a garage sale, and it came with the traffic cone orange zapper.
BTW: My first system was the Atari 2600, and I had a NES, but the first game that I played hardcore was Sonic on my Genesis (Genesis was the first system I bought myself).
yeah, game gear was the first one i bought with my own money... the atari was a hand me down from my cousin... bet he's kicking himself now too, except instead of playing tank battle, he gets to drive real tanks.Zitat:

I had my trusty NES, Genesis, and SNES, but the system I put more hours on to date than any other was probably my Game Boy Pocket. I had a limited edition Gold one and I thought it was the most awesome system in the world, and for every time my family's crappy car broke down on the highway (Somewhere around 7-8 times), I bought a new game at the Wal-Mart near the service center the car was towed to. I remember to this day playing Super Mario Land 3 and reading an issue of Nintendo Power over and over for 12 hours before we got to head out. If not for that Game Boy, I wouldn't have nearly as thick calluses on my thumbs as I do now :)
I played Donkey Kong Land on Snes it is awsome!
My first gaming system was the GBA two years ago, after a few beers at an airport bar. But more seriously, I got into personal gaming back in 1982 or 1983 (excluding all those years at the arcade playing Space Invaders and Pacman) with the 16K Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Jet-Pac. Ah, those where the days....
But the GBA was quickly left to collect dust after I discovered that it had mostly kid's games, and that you practically needed stadium lights in order to see the screen properly at all. And when you did, fifty percent of the screen was taken up by the lights glare; what a disappointment, but that just shows what a few beers can do to your head.
NES....Mario Brothers/Duckhunt-----Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 caught me to the addict i am today
from then on its history ^^
c64 - i played so many games like an addict..
I started out with the turtles game on a Sinclair SpectrumZX2 128k, it was the business at the time and i had tons of games, i have always been more of a PC gamer (addicted to power, consols will never keep up) but when i saw a MegaCD, i was converted. I've never looked back.
Same, SNES, but I really started at the N64. :)Zitat:

My first "console" was this: http://old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=738&st=2
My first "serious" computer was an Amiga 500 ;)
My brother and I used to play Sega Genesis for hours on end back in the day and that was the first system we got and we didn't get another for a few years, I also remember playing NES a while back with my half-uncle.
I started out with an Atari and then the NES. Legend of Zelda and Megaman 2 are the best.
