Looking for some good R-Type-esque action, any games people can suggest (and best emu to run them on)?

umm... I like the game Axelay for Snes, it has top view battles and switches to sidescrolling battles from time to time. Great game if u ask me. I recommend playing it on Snes9xTYL .02 or 0.3 versions. I dont know if it runs fast enough on a 2.00+ psp with a snes emulator though. But it runs ok on my 1.5 psp.

1. Pulstar (NeoCD)- there's rumor that ex-R Type members created this game
2. Last Resort (NeoCD)- also R Type-ish
