I don't usually play action games on SNES because frameskip sacrifices alot.. that's why I play mostly RPGs on SNES.
I would say emulators such as Nester J, Rin, Hue and NeoCD can run most action games almost flawlessly but not SNES in my humble opinion. Well, hate to tell you this because Super Metroid happens to be the favorite game of all time personally... I stop playing Super Metroid on PSP when I couldn't see Samus' normal attack with 1 frameskip... I'm willing to sacrifice few frameskip from certain games (and frankly some action games are very playable) but not Super Metroid. That's why I had so much hope for recently updated SNES.. but alas.. (and on a sidenote, I switched back to 0.2c from 0.3me because somehow I was getting more problem with 0.3me than the previous one..) But I'm sure fully running SNES will be available someday because of TYL~

my super metroid runs like butter on Firmware 2.0 with 0.9.5 eloader. 1 thing is that u should check this site to tweak your snes emu for each rom.
http://yoyofr92.free.fr/psp/snespsp_help.html then after u tweak it , it will run like butter... PS: I am getting 60FPS on super metroid what r u getting? and what graphics mode do u have set in snes emu?

1. Get Patched eLoader.
2. 44khz Sound. 3. The graphics option that is something like PSP + Software + Accu 4. 333mhz. 5. Frameskip 0 or 1 That generally is the setting to get most action games to work perfectly like Megaman X. |

Are you sure you are getting CONSTANT 60fps?? I have 1.5 and 1.5 should perform better, at least not worse, than 2.0 under the same setting. I can think of three reasons; First is that you didn't play through the whole game- first 3 min. of game shows constant 60fps but the framerate drops after the movie sequence. Second is that you took the upper display of the frame rate instead of bottom one. Upper one is the real SNES game frame rate where as the bottom one is the one you are actually playing on psp. Lastly, playing certain SNES games on 2.0 with 0.9.5 eLoader somehow improved the processing power, thus making constant 60fps possible. If your answer is 'none of above', then let me know your setting. Yes, most action games are very playable under certain setting but Super Metroid is one game I just can't compromise... because there are just too many good memory to it personally. Let me try this 'eLoader' and see how it goes.

trigun, I wish I knew I dont' know if you've played Super Metroid on SNES, but there's no slowdown in the actual gameplay, (at least if my memory serves right.. it's been like over 10 years.. dang!) Yes, Super Metroid is very playable on tyl 3me even with no frameskip, however, I wouldn't say it 'works perfectly' in boss battles with slowdowns. (and the reason I switched back to 2.0c is because of Tactics Ogre; 2.0c emulates with more accuracy plus other things) Like I said, I have too many good memories with Super Metroid and just don't wanna play a 'compromised' version... that's all (yes, I'm being picky here) However, if you happen to have a setting that allows no slowdown whatsoever, throughout the game, then let me know, alrite? :icon_smil

It wasn't about whether you own the game, but what is the supposedly the setting that enables fully running Super Metroid according to your statement. you get heavy slowdowns at the place where you obtain morphing ball with search light going on- also the encounter with the statute which holds morphing ball bomb gives plenty of slowdown. Yes, yes, yes- besides from few places, game runs just fine. and tweaking frameskip can fix few places with slowdown. However, when game works perfectly or runs like butter, then it literally means no slowdown. Just provide the setting to see IF I AM MISSING ANYTHING- that's all I am asking. and owning 4 copies of Super Metroid- it must be your all time favorite, right?
