Pokemon Game Breaks GBC...

There's a Pokemon game that where the first batch of copies had a major glitch. It would break your GBC if you captured a Pokemon that appeared to have a distorted image. Anyone know which one this was? I saw someone playing it before and saw that Pokemon. I want to see what it does on the PSP (i know it won't break it).

Are you talking about Missingo or Missing0

It was a distorted glitch image in the game, which would mess up Hall of Fame and sometimes rarely delete saved files or worse.

if it does break your psp then tell us so we can hack the rom to run homebrew

Its on pokemon blue & red and probly yellow while surfin somewhere well thats pretty old game i dont remember where exactly but it was on a small island..

If you could give me the game roms (Yes i have it for real!! its in my gbc somewhere ,probably in the box..) with save.

Ok I'm 15 and when poke'mon came out when I was younger, we where all over the game and I remember every part of this glitch too. You would talk to the old man above pallet town and he would show you how to fight a pokemon and then you would swim on the side of this town where you would find pokemon in the last area you where fighting in randomly (sorta a cheat) so the game thinks the old guy is a pokemon and freaks out and does 2 things: 1. It gives you many copies of the 7th item in your menu (rare candies rock for this ) 2. it messes up the pokemon hall of fame and makes it glitchy. Now this doesnt break the game it just glitches the saved game if you save again its all in the saved game file and does no permanent damage. The 2 pokemon that you find in this glitch are Missingo and O and they have 2 water gun attacks, yea 2 in the same pokemon (not possible) and sometimes you will find other pokemon over level 100 with this glitch too. If you give those rare candys the can go to level 255 but if you give them one more after that they go to level 0. And if you gain any expieriacne with them they willl go to level 100. This is handy for multiplayer seeing you dont gain expieriance and fight your opponent with 6 level 255 pokemon :P when you can only go to 100 normally. And this glitch only happens in pokemon red and blue. So no it wont do anything at all to the pokemon rom, psp, or emulator.

holy cow, you remembered everything, except one thing, im pretty sure it gives you tons of your 6th item, not your seventh.. im 15 too btw

if you caught one of those messed up guys with a splotchy name, and he was level 0, then if you gave him a rock candy he became a Kangasgan with 2 water guns

Lol, I still remember the names of all the 151 Pokemon. Ah, memories, sitting for hours just training myu Pokemon, trying to catch' em all. :P
And it was in all the shipments of Red and Blue. Although, Rare Candies make your Pokemon slightly weaker than wen using experience, so just buy a few poer-ups (calcium, iron, etc..), and you'll have the ultimate Pokemon.

that glitch gave me nearly unlimited master balls its great. when i was running low id just go back and do it again.

Dudes, Im 12 and it's your 6th item not your 7th
Plus the island is called Cinnabar Island
If you catch it it messes with your pokemon(EX: Turns them different colors)

2) How can it turn them different colours in a game originally intended for the first-gen greyscale gameboys?

ok, i have to school all of you, first talk to the old man at the top of town and talk to him, he asks something like are you in a hurry? you can choose yes or no, choose no. so whatch him catch a weeedle. after thats done put any item in your 6th slot in your item bag.(rare candies master balls and nuggets are the bes ones to do)then fly to cinnabar island. go to the right and swim up and down the shoreline. after you fight a few pokemon(be careful some are level 146) and you will eventually fight the missingno, beat it. and look at your items and you should have i think its 119 of that item! and oh yeah, dont catch missingno cause it WILL mess up the game(ex. delete your file) so just dont catch it, i made that mistake when i was like 9. oh yeah i still play pokemon and im 14

HOLY CRAP!!! That was one of the funniest memories ever, ok here's how it goes. Snorlax was my favorite pokemon back then and when I found him level 150 I masterballed him right away. So then I thought of a nicknamed and nicknamed him Mew. So then I went to my friends house and showed them my mew (snorlax) so they could only see the HP and name. So that's all I show them and they keep crying to see it, so i give it more rare candies until it's level 255 and it actually had 999 hp which is the most possible. So they keep complaining and i went home. So they came over to my house and we went to a baseball game and we brought our gameboys. and one of them took my gameboy when i wasnt looking. so i look around and notice on of my friends is gone and chase him down and get him just as he's loading the saved game. Yea but after a week they finally gotta face my fake mew and found out it was a fake :P

Has anyone tried this mew glitch, I never knew you could get a mew without gameshark or trading and I've already started re-playing pokemon red on my PSP to test it :P I hope this isn't a lie, I remember back in the day when there used to be about a billion pokemon rumors going around in elementary school.

Here are the instructions:
There is an alternate way to get mew a lot faster in R/B. You can get it as soon as you get to Cerulean City. First, you have to catch an Abra. Like before, battle all trainers EXCEPT the one with the slowpoke, AND the one just to the left of the Nugget Bridge in the grass. Then, make sure you have been to the Cerulean Pokemon Centre before. Next, like before, walk a few steps in front of the trainer in the grass, then press start quickly before he battles you. Then go to Abra and use teleport. You should be infront of the Cerulean Pokemon Centre. Your start button shouldn't be working. Now, go to the trainer with the slowpoke and defeat him. Your start button should now work. Now teleport back to Cerulean. Go to Nugget Brudge. The first step you take should bring up the main menu. Press B and you will encounter Mew.
This has been tested by me. The Mew is level 7 and only knows Pound.
