Monkey 64 is work in progress and so is this thread. ;) It's kinda fun trying to push you emulator to see just what it can do! With every new release the compatibility list will be revised.Zitat:

.. i want that !
That video is fake.
Super Smash Bros. (U) [!].z64 didnt work, yes i know its 16, 384 KB's but i still tried it anyways.
Thats 128 Mb (16MB) so it's fine. ;)Zitat:

1024KB = 1MB
16384KB / 1024KB = 16MB
IS tehre anything you can actually play?
Pong ;)Zitat:

Mortal Squarebat. ;) its the lack of textures that make it hard to figure out.Zitat:

I'm just curious, what do you mean by the ROM being 'too large' to be handled, and may never work? Just a bummer, since Ocarina of Time is on there.
well currently i load the entire romfile into psp memory. I only have enough space for a 16 rom. So anything larger wont fit into ram. In the future I will figure out a method to allow me to load parts in chunks on request but not sure where to tap it in and not hinder the framerate.Zitat:

Well could you load part of the game in chronological order? For example; in Zelda, load half the ROM into memory, up to halfway through the game. When you get to that halfway point, a screen comes up that says "Loading" or somthing like that, and you dump the first half and replace it with the second half. IDK if it would work, but it's an idea. Another that sounds hard but that you have most likely thought of already is streaming.
But I'm getting a little ahead of myself, we don't even have textures yet. It's good to think ahead though.
Exactly what I was thinking.Zitat:

By the way, I tested Yoshi's Story to no avail. It just crashes the PSP.
Did anyone ever try Super Smash Brothers?
You guys are asking if these games work, this thing doesnt even run comemrcial roms yet really. I was with the N64 scene from the beggining as far as emulation goes. This is how its more then likely going to work:
Freeware ROMs first (Done on PSP)
Super Mario 64/Testing ROM (MK in this case)
Then smaller ROMs
Then most ROMs with some kind of limitation more then likely/
What do you mean thats too big and may never work the n64 roms are around 8-70mb or something.
I like the streaming idea. Like loading partitions of the rom. But... is that possible?
Definently looking forward to this developing into a practical N64 emulator.
One day.
Don't even bother, it won't do anything...Zitat:

Roms range from 2MBytes (most pd roms) to 64MBytes (resident evil 2). I only have 24MBytes of usable ram on the psp. 4MB are dedicated n64 ram, another 2-4 megs lost to emulation (buffers and etc). So that leaves around 16MB of ram to store a rom in. Zelda is 32MB large. It wont fit.Zitat:

Understand now?

Especially the loss of Conker is what upsets me.
I only wished to play a potty mouth on the go.
if psp can some how get double the ram it has now then we can play those games.
Maybe if we could mod it somehow to put in more ram.Zitat:
I wonder what the first working ROM will be?
Bust-A-Move or Mortal Kombat Trilogy I bet...
Here's a latest screenie from the next build. (from PSmonkey's site)
Bust-A-Move2 - Arcade Edition (U) [b4]
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ditionUb47.jpg
It would be mortal Kombat trillogy since it already is playable (just needs textures). Bust-a-move on the other hand seems to lock up after 5 mins in the main menu.Zitat:

right now he is just working on textures in the background and like characters and etc, but his next release will be good i hope,
and that donkey 64 emulator, has anyone seen his mario 64 video he released it makes me want to belive him, but than i like psmonkey alot more ;)
Donkey 64 is fake.Zitat:

But does the rom necessarily have the need to load in RAM? can't it load into the memory stick itself, much like "Virtual Memory" used by windows!~!
No, memory card read/writes are slow....
There is a way for big games to run off things other then RAM. The Dreamcast has only 16 mb ram but many emulators have different ways of loading large roms or ISO's.Zitat:

Nice work Evab3va we used your list at DCEMU as well and we credited you of course. :)
NOOOO PERFECT DARk!!!
Updated. :)
Oh FYI, This is pretty much being done for fun. I might not release v1.1 since I think bugs in the rsp is what is hurting textures still. Since I am now starting up HLE, all my old RSP (LLE style) wont apply to the hle system. So hopefuly textures will be better onces hle is running (along with 3d). So pretty much if I am lucky, by the weekend their might be an update regarding hle (depending how fast it goes).
