Well codes like (U) (J) or whatever are country codes. IE.

(U) = USA
(J) = Japan
(E) = European
(W) = World

Etc.

[a] This is simply an alternate version of a ROM. Many games have been re-released to fix bugs or even to eliminate Game Genie codes (Yes, Nintendo hates that device).

[b] A bad dump often occurs with an older game or a faulty dumper (bad connection). Another common source of [b] ROMs is a corrupted upload to a release FTP.

[f] A fixed game has been altered in some way so that it will run better on a copier or emulator.

[h] Something in this ROM is not quite as it should be. Often a hacked ROM simply has a changed header or has been enabled to run in different regions. Other times it could be a release group intro, or just some kind of cheating or funny hack.

[o] An overdumped ROM image has more data than is actually in the cart. The extra information means nothing and is removed from the true image.

[t] A trainer is special code which executes before the game is begun. It allows you to access cheats from a menu.

[!] Verified good dump. Thank God for these!

Monkey 64 is work in progress and so is this thread. It's kinda fun trying to push you emulator to see just what it can do! With every new release the compatibility list will be revised.

Thats 128 Mb (16MB) so it's fine.

1024KB = 1MB
16384KB / 1024KB = 16MB

I'm just curious, what do you mean by the ROM being 'too large' to be handled, and may never work? Just a bummer, since Ocarina of Time is on there.

well currently i load the entire romfile into psp memory. I only have enough space for a 16 rom. So anything larger wont fit into ram. In the future I will figure out a method to allow me to load parts in chunks on request but not sure where to tap it in and not hinder the framerate.

Well could you load part of the game in chronological order? For example; in Zelda, load half the ROM into memory, up to halfway through the game. When you get to that halfway point, a screen comes up that says "Loading" or somthing like that, and you dump the first half and replace it with the second half. IDK if it would work, but it's an idea. Another that sounds hard but that you have most likely thought of already is streaming.

But I'm getting a little ahead of myself, we don't even have textures yet. It's good to think ahead though.

Exactly what I was thinking.

By the way, I tested Yoshi's Story to no avail. It just crashes the PSP.

You guys are asking if these games work, this thing doesnt even run comemrcial roms yet really. I was with the N64 scene from the beggining as far as emulation goes. This is how its more then likely going to work:
Freeware ROMs first (Done on PSP)
Super Mario 64/Testing ROM (MK in this case)
Then smaller ROMs
Then most ROMs with some kind of limitation more then likely/

I like the streaming idea. Like loading partitions of the rom. But... is that possible?

Definently looking forward to this developing into a practical N64 emulator.
One day.
