Default Monkey 64 Compatibility Thread

This is the compatibility thread for the Nintendo 64 emulator by PSmonkey. Current build is v2.0. For people having trouble finding the emulator you can find it at the bottom of this post.

Contributions Welcome!

Use GoodN64 v2.02a auditing tool by Cowering to check which ROM you have and make sure it is 16MB (128 Megabit) or less in size.
I am using a Japanese PSP with 1.5 firmware for testing. Screenshots are now next to the games.

Current Monkey 64 Version 2.0

* UPDATE 11/05/06 *

WOW! Here it is at last. The public release of Monkey 64 v2.0! As you can see a lot has changed over the last few months and many games are compatible now with a lot of texture problems corrected and of course, 3D is now working in a lot of games.

This compatibilty list is WIP and will be vastly updated over the next few days. (PSmonkey works me hard dammit!)

This... the progress...
When did he start.. ? Few months back?
Cause... It's pretty cool.
DOOM 64 would have made my day... Or month. Year even.

Doom 64 (U) [!] - Displays menus - no graphics yet.

Really? Damn it did nada for me. I'll have to check.

Also few more
Automobile Lambergini [!] - Displays menus but eventualy crashes - no graphics yet.
Bust a Move 2 [b4] - Displays copyrights & menus but eventualy returns to menu - no graphics yet.

Also nothing larger then 16MB will load. FYI.

I'm not complaining about progress here I'm actually very impressed, but if it does practically nothing it's nothing much without it's charm. But I shall keep a close eye on this one as I have every N64 ROM known to man...and possibly woman? o_O Torrents, people! Use them and love them.

Which dumps did you try? You need to specify - Region (U) = USA (J) = Japan etc. and type of dump [!] = verified good dump [b] = bad dump etc.

I was wondering.. since the N64 and the PSP have similar processor (MIPS), then it should be capable of potentially reaching at least 30fps some time, right?

Oh I forgot one.
Mortal Kombat Mythologies - Sub-Zero (U) [!] runs till the main menu (after u start a new game it just returns to the menu).

Also minor note. the return to menu's are because I took out a small wait for input check. The rom is hitting an unemulated opcode and exeting the emulation loop.

Super Mario 64 (English) (don't know why it named English insted of just (U)) runs (with clock at 333mhz) at 59fps (on my 2.5 psp), but its just a little line at the top of the screen and you can do nothing exept go back to the emu menu. Might mean getting SM64 working sooner than previsly thought.

P.S My spelling sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well maybe one of us should try to find a j or [b1] dump because PSmonkey said that the [b1] work better then the [!] to a degree.

Ya I know. Just that Super Mario 64 is the only n64 rom that doesn't have that it just says (English). I'm guessing it's ethier US/Canada or Europe.

Super Mario 64 (U) [!]
Super Mario 64 (J) [!]
Super Mario 64 - Shindou Edition (J) [!]
Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [!]

All don't work yet. Super Mario 64 - Shindou Edition (J) [!] actually exits quicker than the others, maybe something to do with the rumble pak?

Holy crap, If I ahd a bigger mem stick Id test em out....Oh, I just tested out Worms:Armageddon because I thought it might work because its a 2d game, but all it does is make funny frizzy stuff.....This thing isn't too too powerful for its first stage but I'm sure it'll get better.

EDIT:
oh and you know you said to use a program to check if the romas are lower then 12 mb's,I got a better soloution. Just right click the file and click on properties and it'll show you.

Ok... so SOMETHING is out...

Looking forward to the practical release of this. Great job guys. Can't wait to just pull out Super Mario n64 in class next to my buddy and him try to beat the crap out of me for not telling him sooner.

(In addition, I weep for the loss of Conker's Bad Fur Day. Though we have you in our homes, we may never have you in our pants... err... in our PSPs... which are in our pants...)
