well, secret of mana and sekenditzu 3 (secret of mana 2) don't, but its not a turnbased battlesystem.

what are you talking about secret of mana is nothing like CT's battle system . the only thing thats the same from both games is the the main characters look like each other.

FF's are the best RPGs ever, great storylines, great gameplay, and it has the best graphics for the time each game was released... hell its already up to the 12th installment... (which to my understanding has been released in japan already) and plus FF's have side games such as Tactics, Mystic Quest, and all the FF7 games that are coming out soon. So IMO, FF's rules the RPG world.

I think CT is probably the king, but if you want to try a real absorbing RPG, try "Shadowrun" ...its kinda like an RPG cross between an adventure- real good game.
Thats without mentioning the Square games (FF, Secret of Mana etc)... Oh there is another game "Romancing Saga" that noone mentioned if you wanna try something different.

Id say that the graphics in FF4 / 5 might be a lil dated, but the RPG holds a class in its own- was it 5 with the class changing system? thats damn awesome!

Illusion Of Gaia and Terranigma were pretty good games. Like Chrono Trigger there is no battle screen transition. They're gameplay was more like Zelda and the Mana series, sorta hack and slash. I doubt you'd enjoy them though, but hey give them a shot.
