    Standard Funny ROM Stories

I just thought id make a thread for this kind of stuff since its worth a good laugh...

Ok... Wre done with math this year so the class is playing on old Apple II compuiters and this game called Below the Root... My math teacher is a little obsessed and said he played it all the time as a young one...

Now... I have just gotten the ROM and am playing it on my PSP... Not only is better graphics (CPU Faster Processing), but it has actually good colors and pixels... So I showed my math teacher it and he felt somewhat angry that his old Apple II was now basically in the 'Palm of my Hand' and that I can get full sound out of it and everything...

So then he kind of kicked me off the game since he probably thought Id play it at home adn beat it... He was right lol... But i think it was for more then just that... He was mad that i had taken his childhood aaway and compressed this huge bulky machine into a little wallet sized device... The internet has its amazing things...

Next year i shall show my C/C++ teacher that i can proram better then them since there using the VB.net thing... And my brother just so happens to be a professional at that and has showed me his ways lol....

    fun fun fun...

...at what speed must I live.. to be able to see you again?...

I have a friend who's uses emulators, and is completely legal about it... Every ROM he has he owns the original. One time, I was round at his house, and he was saying that if he ever lost the originals then he'd just delete all his ROMs straight away for fear of being arrested, lmao...

Eventually, I ended up hiding all his game cartridges, and making it look like they'd been stolen; The idiot deleted all his ROMs and savegames on the spot! I told him what had happened, but only after I got home... I've not ever been mean to that friend since :D

I'll tell ya a funny story. I was using the SNES emulater on my PSP and thought I could play Doom on it. After playing the SNES Doom, it lagged like hell. Then I realized there was a standalone homebrew Doom so I played it. To my great delight, it was so much smoother.

FYI, SNES DOOM was really, really, really, laggy by itself, and it turned out to be a pretty bad release.

My funny ROM story occured betweem two friends of mine. One of the friends was a total ROM hoarder... The other guy pretended to be teh POLICE and IM'D him on a new name saying that the police were on to his illegal activities. To this day the guy doesn;t itouch ROMs again...

Sounds like the homebrew standalone Doom would be a MUCH better choice. Much more stable, smoother resolution, and the ability to insert custom made levels. :P

I have more fun running my PSP to load Mac OS 7.5.3 to brag about, Since its hella faster and better to use then Win95 since Bochs or whoever doesnt wanna make his porting code better.

On my PSP, Zodiac AND My Nage
I love to brag that I can run:
    - C64
    - Sega, Nes, SNES, GB etc.

So yea.. I have fun. ^^

The quanity isnt as fun to brag about, its the showing a device that isnt built for something, and watch them say WTF?

I mean.. Comon.. how many people you know have a Symbian 60 phone, (Ngage-QD) and make it do EVERYTHING. I mean 130$ on n-gage.com and OTHER then a camera. It beats about everyphone out there, feature wise.

Motorola is nice.. hackable too.. but still cant install like you can on a S60.

And I told him that it's legal if you dump your own cartridge he's like "my uncle's a cop and I asked him and he said no"

    lmao ****ing n00bs...

I was in math class one day a long time ago and I pulled out the NES mario, with the volume about halfway. The room was kinda rambunctious at the time, but out of nowhere some preppy girl (go figure) stopped talking and went ".... Ok, WHO IS PLAYING MARIO?"

Then one day my youth minister started talking about Dig Dug, and so later on I showed him dig dug on my NES emulator.

In fact, when I first got my emulators back on 1.5 when they were more convenient to use and I could enjoy both my PSP and my homebrew to their fullest extent, My mom was really glad that I finally had a device that could play all of my favorite old games (despite the fact that she doesnt play anything higher than Pac-Man, she really understands gaming commerce well, and despises how Nintendo makes you buy the same thing over and over again).

Wow... your mom is cool. :icon_smil

I tought my friend about emulators on his PSP so I installed DGEN and he liked it. Then he upgraded to 2.60 and he doesn't have GTA so he's like "What if the police catch you?"

And I told him that it's legal if you dump your own cartridge he's like "my uncle's a cop and I asked him and he said no"

    lmao ****ing n00bs...
