Holy ****! N64 Yoshi Story for the PSP
OK. i went looking for Snes roms today and i searched for "Super Mario World" and it took me to a site with a list of games with the name "Super" infront of them. i got my super mario world rom and then i saw this. a rom called "Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island" at first i thought it was a SMW Hack. it isnt it is a jap snes game made by nintendo in 1995 (the end of the SNES Years) i started playing it and i realized its the EXACT SAIM GAME AS YOSHI STORY FOR THE N64. it runs about half speed but how can you complain? i guess now we know N64 games (atleast some of them) are verry possible for the PSP.
Again if you want to try to find the rom your self search for the name (Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island)

this isnt really a new find, i remember playing it 2 years ago, its just sprites of 3d objects, most GBA games revolve around this

I remember playing that game at toys-r-us when it was new. It was most deffinatly an SNES game, but they remade it for the N64.

Yup, the 3d sprites thing is the same concept that was used in Mario RPG. Really, I don't care whether they're sprites or not, it still looks clean and nice.

Maybe I'm reading this incorrectly...are you just saying you discovered Yoshi's Island? That's pretty surprising. The game was pretty popular -- much more so than Yoshi's Story for Nintendo 64, anyway.
Also, I'd like to know how you came to this conclusion:
Nintendo 64 games may or may not be reasonably possible on PSP, but what does playing a Super NES game on PSP have to do with it at all?i guess now we know N64 games (atleast some of them) are verry possible for the PSP.

Yoshi's island is also ported to the GBA. Play it using the SNES emu for better performance.

Many of the last SNES games were later redone for N64. For example Killer Instinct 2 and this one.

LOL, I can't beleive you just discovered this game, and its not a jap only game it was released in america and was very popular, I remember playing this on my SNES about 6-8 years ago.

Yes I own this game...and it wasn't remade on the N64, they're completely different games. :S Super Mario World 2 is huge...It's as good, if not better than SMW, and was near it in popularity. Wow. Yoshi's Island > Yoshi's Story, but you got me excited for a second. Get with the times, man...you missed out.

LoL. This was a real game and it was released in The US. I was playing it on my SNES yesterday. And please don't compare that POS Yoshi'a story with this masterpiece.

I didn't know there was an N64 version! I loved the SNES Yoshi's Story! It had unlockable multiplayer, you know. I'll never tell you how to get it!
... Actually I just can't remember. I'm sure it's on GameFAQs or something.

Killer Instict Gold(2) is not a re-do of Killer Instinct they are different games all together. KI1 SNES > KI2 N64.

I did play Killer Instinct Gold (what I think the N64 one was called) and I thought it sucked. I did like the SNES one, but I was a kid, I didn't really have much taste.

I have the arcade versions of 1 and 2 on my PC and its not for everyone. But I liked it as much as MK3 at the time of KI2, But MK2 was more enjoyable than 3.

Yoshi's Island=Masterpiece and one of my top 10 games.
Yoshi's Story= POS game that not even worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as the above masterpiece.

It looks like you are right. I just got the latest issue of RESET (Sweden's biggest video game magazine) and it contained an article about Rare.
Zitat von Labounti
This is what it says (poorly translated to english):
"Rare continued doing successors to both Donkey Kong Country and Killer Instinct until they finally debutaded on Nintendo 64 with Killer Instinct Gold, an upgraded version of the second Killer Instinct-game"
I checked MobyGames and there doesn't seem to be a Killer Instinct 2 for SNES so RESET is wrong this time. And I took what they wrote for the truth so I'm wrong to.
Edit: After doing som searching I've found out that there actually were a Killer Instinct 2, but it was only released on arcade. And that game was later redone for N64, and then called Killer Instinct Gold

You read right, i think you misunderstood. But it can be confusing since they changed it to KI Gold.an upgraded version of the second Killer Instinct-game"

I'm suprised at the amount of people saying Yoshi's Story was a 'POS'. That game was really fun, I thought...Yoshi's Island may have been better, but Yoshi's Story was a really good game.
