Tales of Phantasia English version by Dejap was messed up at one dialogue. They put the word f*ck in the game.

So what, the developer's had a little fun translating, later in the game, there is gonna be a lot worse words and cutscene(s) to come.

Hmm... actually, this game was never released outside of Japan (SNES version) and anything that is translated by people other than actual game developers are not subjected to ESRB ratings...

Are they translating the direct dialogue from another language, in this case, jap?

テールズオブファンタジアのDejap作成英語版が訳 しの途中でF*ckとあるため、ゲームの評価はMとス ベキ。

Like, since your comment has "f*ck", does that mean your comment should be rated M???

Don't see any points here.

If you've ever done translations, there are some nouns, or someones names, or item names that could have a "f*ck" word or "****" inside. Without meaning the English words directly/indirectly.

Like got a friend named 竹下. In other words "たけした" or Take****a. If you break it up, in Eng, it ends up as "Take **** a". So, in case of translations, having them can happen easily. Unfortunatly for "し", we can use "shi" or "si" both coming up with the same "し". And in typing, this will all depend on ones way of typing. (Like which way do you prefer pressing the space bar? the right hand thumb or left hand thumb)

Just for the fun, I've told my friend never to introduce himself with his last name due to the above reason, or use Takesita instead. (^^

That is a translation patch you downloaded off the net and applied to the illegally-obtained ROM you have.
Tell you what though, go explain all that to the police and see who gets in 'trouble'.
You create the dumbest threads.

Only if the game was release in the U.K. should they not put any profanity in it.

Haha, you really think one languages words are more offensive than anothers? English is one of the simplest languages around, but it also lacks the amount you can express compared to other languages.
Take Arabic for example, there are 100 words for the word God, and there are about 100 words for the word ****, most of which will lead to to be killed on the street of an Arab country. It also demonstartes another point, it's not the word that's intrinsically offensive, it's societies perception of that word. Obviously f*** would sound more offensive to you because you understand it, if I said kelb, baka, kussotare, kumamamako you wouldn't understand any of it and it wont be offensive (yes they are all offensive words in their respective cultures)

Not again with the Nintendo Childish arguement, Nintendo did not make Tales of Phantasia, Namco did, so Nintendo didn't put it in there. Even then there has been worse stuff on a console, look at those South Park games on the N64.
