    you don't have to choose, you can install em both in different folders..
    make a folder snestyl42 and one snestyl2c or something like that, copy over the savestates and test away :)

    Question.. is snes9x 0.2c and snespsp tyl 4.2 the same thing??? I dont think they are are they??

    Also which one is better, standard or ME? I think one was better since it was designed for 1.50?

    My vote is for tyl 0.4.2 ME for 1.5. I've noticed increases in performance with a lot of games that needed it. Although some games look like they might have decreased in performance as well, could be the ROM though. It has a better layout/menu, my only gripe is that sleep mode isn't supported. But it's not to difficult to just quit the emulator and turn the PSP off anyways.

    Why not just have both installed on the PSP?

    Cause save states wouldnt work on "both" unless you manually moved them.

    So whats the diff between Standard and ME? Also how come sleep doesnt work? It works on .2c... So whats the real deal.. im confused.

    To my understanding the ME (Media Edition) version takes advantage of the PSP hardware for better handling. Which is why it's only for 1.5 users. Look at this thread for more information though because I'm not to great at explaining technical things.

    Why is it that the SNES 9x Emulator updates keep getting...

    SnesTYL .42 is NEW as in , a few weeks old.
    ME refers to kernel-only Media Engine, so 1.0 or 1.5's only. It puts sound thru there so u get higher performance.
    the ME codes they use, make it impossible to use sleepmode. it runs MUCH faster tho than .2c etc.
    and to make savestates work on both, copy them to both folders.

    Yea but what about the bugs in 4.2 ME? I read on his forums the list of things, and one that could make your other homebrew mess up?

    Also whats that about BG Music? Is that for the game itself etc?

    there's just no reason to use an older version

    the bgm's are played in the menu but you can turn them off

    nope .42 doesn't have any current issues with other homebrew. check the official snestyl forums

    Yea I used it yesterday, quite nice. Granted.. wondering these days as it seems 44 khz audio doesnt lag it anymore.. I used to use 22. Which one are you all using? On ff6, I get a 60 top FPS, and 20 bottom FPS.

    I use 44 on all games, and i usually get around 40-60 fps, when playing games like Final Fantasy and Super Mario, however with Donkey Kong Country and Kirby, and Super Mario RPG, however its more like 15-25 fps.(even with 300+cpu clock)

    I think the real and emulated fps's are to do with frameskip -> if u increase frameskip those will change etc.
    mario rpg isn't going to be perfectly emulated tho no matter what.. it will stay slow even with sound off (tho slightly faster then)
