Stupid question, but will CPS1 games run on the CPS2 emulator? Or will I need to keep both emulators?

i tried a few gammes (marvel super heroes and MvC) and it gave me the prompt that the game wouldnt work - yet I see many people have success with these games in question. I have the parent rom... how do you guys get it to work? do I need a clone version? I thought having the parent would be the best one to have. Thanks in advance!

you need two files for that rom to work
look in the cps2 rominfo.dat file , find your rom you want to add , it will have another filename that you need as well. to get that goto mame folder eeprom folder get romname.epm i think and zip it up ie... romnameu.zip or whatever the other filename is in rominfo.dat file works for all roms. Yeah I just saw the converter folder, I dont know how I didnt see that, so yeah I got the cache thing working, also for the guy below me who said they had the same problem, you also need the US version of the game... a lot of the parent roms arent the US version, so what I did was merge the US version and the parent one into one zip file, and used the converter to make the cache for it. Works like a charm...
Is there any tips to make the speed faster? I disabled the 60 fps lock and enabled auto frameskip... should i leave the 60 fps lock on?

I've having a hard time finding ROMs for CPS1&2.
And NO I'm not asking for illegal links on the forums.
Just having trouble finding any Street Fighter or Marvel ROMs =[

I find that enabling FPS lock and disabling auto frame skip keeps it at a steady framerate. Giga Wing, one of my favourite MAME shooters, seems to work perfectly at 60fps like this, only slowing down slightly when you do the screen-filling secondary attack.
