I cant get this rom to run, is it not compatible w/ MSX 061+....I have all the bios and the 1st Metal Gear is playing fine....anyone got part 2 running?....

I haven't tried my part II yet, I check it right now and get back. But can I ask you something first? Can you open the 'weapons menu' in part I, cuz' it's supposed to be the F2 key, but when I assign that button, it uses F1 instead.

I figured out part 2:

MSX type: msx2
when selecting metal gear 2 in the rom1 selection select the rom type as "2 konami5 8k"

Rom 2 just go to your bios folder and select msx2.rom bios and make it generic and it runs....

ROM1:ms0:PSP/GAME/fMSX/ROMS/SOLIDE12.ROM 2 KONAMI5 8kb
ROM2:ms0:PSP/GAME/fMSX/BIOS/MSX2.ROM 0 Generic 8kb

Mine is set up as F1 pauses, F2 brings up the weapons select, F3 is equipment...

I am using default settings, I never configed anything, not the controller/game set up....

Yep, just checked it out. Frickin' ROM just crashed my PSP just now. So, I don't think it works. I extracted all the BIOS where they were supposed to be and it still dunnit werk!!! Part I has problems, too because I can't open the weapons menu which is supposed to be F2, but the emulator assigns it to F1 instead, which is pause. DAMMIT!!!

...or you could have used your "Search" function and have found multiple threads pointing out the problem and a short (and needs editing thanks for making me remember :think: ) FAQ I wrote about how to set up.

Alrighty....got the bioses and they are cbios_main_msx.rom, xbios_main_msx2.rom, cbios_sub.rom, cbios_main_msx2+.rom and cbios_music.rom still can get any roms to run. Tried renaming the bioses but to no avail....any help would be greatly appreciated! I have everything set up as above with the right configs but I have no idea how to get the rom to start....do you hit power...exit...I cant hit continue its grey and wont respond! What are the drive A and B for?

I got the emulator from here, pspupdates.com! The only place I shop! I downloaded a MSX emulator and got the bioses from there.

I, myself, have a personal bias against the cbios. I've never field tested them, so I don't know if they actually work; i'll check and get back to you.

So, for now, my suggestion is look for a big MSX fanboy site by putting just "MSX" in Google and search the sites for the roms...

Ok. Here is the official results:

After messing with the names, setting, ect. I have proven that the CBIOS DO NOT perform in fMSX and WILL NOT allow you to emulate the game. I'll be adding this piece of information to my FAQ so no one gets confused... :shhh:
