Mini Guide to playing hacked Roms
Ok, I know most of you including myself has experienced roms crashing because of the mode 7 intros and other intros like it, theres a way to get rid of the intro.
This site,http://arcvoreppin.free.fr/ips/ has ips patches for mostly all the games with intro that removes the intro, removing the intro allows you to play the roms without them crashing, it also allows you to play hacked versions of that game.
Since the rom is clean after you applied the patch, it's just like getting it right out of the box with no hacks or anything applied to it.
This gives you the oppertunity to apply the hacks for that rom.(Note) This doesn't make other games work that crashed from different circumstances.
Ok, first apply the fix ips patch with the lunar ips or another tool, then run it through the VBA to see that the intro is gone, if it's not gone, you probably applied the wrong version of the fix, go back and look for it.
When you removed the intro, it's your choice to either apply a hack or play it as it is since it's fixed now. Apply the hack the same way you applied the fix.
(Note) Only apply hacks to a game that you know runs well, preferably the Pokemon games.
Well thats it, I hoped this helped you, it took alot of time and determination to find this information.
One more thing, I've also found a way to patch any rom to save with 64kb big .sav files, this means you can use the .sav files on the VBA so you can apply cheats or whatever and send it back the gpsp without a problem.
There is a tool that Fou_Ryu posted in the game_config thread called the Gbata, if you load a rom inside of it, you see a tab called SRAM, use that and the rom you loaded in will always spit out 64kb big .sav files. When it's done it will create a copy of that rom, it will have an a little extension at the beggining called "output-romname.gba", this is the rom you use for now on if you want the 64kb saves, I know you do so use it.
Well thats it, hope this helps you guys.

You know that some roms have hacked intros like "Advance Wars 2", those intros sometimes causes roms to crash with the Gpsp, these patches removes them so you can play the game correctly, like when you apply the ips path to pokemon ruby, it get rid of that "mugs" intro for example. If you have a hack for a game like Pokemon quarts that is a hack of Pokemon Ruby, you can apply it, then play it without it crashing.
